Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

OT, but last I checked the American school in Delhi was called American Embassy School (AES). Not sure if they've opened another one, though that would be strange.

Yeah, I went to the The British School, just a few meters away from AES. It's very difficult for a fully Indian person to get into AES.

Back on topic. Very good day for India. I expect us to get around 450 at least and declare around tea. I suspect it might be a frustrating day in the field for Australia as I think Dhoni and Ganguly will go on to get fifties or more on this track.

Its not a flat batting beauty as Kotla. This one has good bounce (for all) and turn for the spinners from even the normal spots. Its at its batting best for the first two days, but you can get wickets too. Sachin has said that the wicket will be very tough to play on in a few days with the spinners bowling.

I feel this one will be the regular Indian wicket of those days which actually gives the spinners good purchase. most of the indian wickets today are slow and low, and dont actually give the purchase it needs to.

How has the Bengal people actually reacted to Ganguly's retirement? I am guessing the media there is really focussing on the last days of Ganguly.

I can actually see him becoming the coach of India one day.

Coach? NO WAY! He is Indian.....:D

Well I know how Nagpur has reacted to his retirement. A bunch of empty seats at the Stadium :p -- Probably due to the stadium being so far away from the actual city and it is a working day.

Maybe they will come for the final two days of his career. In fact, I am saving myself for those few moments because I just cant miss those. This man has given enormous joy to all of us during his illustrous career. He may not be the best, but he is just class!

Try to use your brain sometimes, Tom :( day by day its becoming blunt ;)

How the feck can a brain become blunt? Also it is all down to personal opinion. Lee is one of the best fast bowlers in the world and to drop him during an iffy patch is totally reactive and not good for Aussie cricket in the long run.

You see that is called having an opinion, not posting some weird jibberish about blunt brains ;)

Agree with Highlander. Here's a little secret: EVERYONE goes through a bad patch. This is probably Lee's bad patch since before this, against both Windies and India (in Australia) he pretty much dominated.

India should look to get a score close to 500,Ganguly has plaenty of time to get 100,India can bat for 2 seeions from now,but this is last recognised pair,if India looses wickets in morning, also the ball is not that ols,Aus bowlers will get some help in 1st 20-30 mins, lets see...

great start by INdia. Its 367/5 and Ganguly looks set for a big one.... Dhoni is batting very well as usual.

Get 500 runs and bat out two sessions thereby making the pitch more rough and crumbling. Then put Australia in. Methodical stuff!

The Ganguly show continues, had a minor blimp in the 3rd test but hes back again. Dhoni is looking really good as well after his early scare.

Get that hundred, Saurav! I would lose my night's sleep for you....

Dhoni looking real good. The Indian batting has come back to big form after Ajantha Mendis embarassed them in Sri Lanka. Only Dravid remains. Will he do it in the 2nd innings (if it is played?)

Dizzy from Aus: "I'm assuming that from an indian batting point of view that facing offspin is like batting against your sisters bowling in backyard cricket, so familiar, so sloggable." Now now ... you are just trying to tempt the women into posting here. right?

lol:p:p

Agreed. Dropping Lee would be stupid.

Angelina from Aus: "Thanks for noting that we were good at taking 3 out of the 5 wickets of our great brothers so far.." Well done sis!
