Stop overworking Dhoni! Dinesh Karthik may be a pretty damn poor ODI batsman, but he can keep and help take the load off Dhoni for a pretty pointless couple of series. RP Singh playing instead of Munaf Patel is a silly move, RP has been underperforming at ODI level for a while now and Munaf had two good CB performances before his poor performance against Sri Lanka which got him dropped. I expect India to go with this as a starting XI:
1. Robin Uthappa
2. Virender Sehwag
3. Gautam Gambhir
4. Yuvraj Singh
5. MS Dhoni (capt&wk)
6. Rohit Sharma
7. Irfan Pathan
8. Yusuf Pathan(/Pragyan Ohja who'd likely bat 11)
9. Piyush Chawla
10. Praveen Kumar
11. Ishant Sharma

Yes, he's lost focus. He's gained alot of weight, plays too many show boat shots, and really needs to concentrate on his cricket more.
Sad that Karthik wasn't included. Dhoni should've just gone home and given Sehwag captaincy or something.
Would've really liked to see Asdonkar in there for Uthappa. Its not that I don't like the guy, its just he needs to be taught a lesson.

And we have good bowling options so everything looks really bright in terms of the XI IMO.
Got to feel for the young blokes that have fired in the IPL, though. It must have been like a punch in the gut to hear Vengsarkar to say that IPL efforts wouldn't be taken into consideration. What's the point of it then, to simply make money? Don't even answer that, I think I know the reply already.
I was watching this show yesterday and its rumored that many of the players are not 100% fit. Dhoni obviously has a few hand niggles, Sharma has done something to his finger and Ghambir his shoulder.
Ghambir played today so he should be alright...

As much as I'd like Yusuf to play, I don't think he'll be picked, I reckon he's gonna be one of them players who keeps on getting picked in squads but never plays. I'm not being pessemestic but I have a strong feeling about it. But I'd really love him to play after his brilliant performances in the IPL.

I think Robin can be handy down the order, especially if we bat first. I still remember that ODI against the Aussies last year where we made 290 and he we scored 20 of the last over thanks to him and Dhoni. Also the 6th ODI against England where he took us past the line. He's not a top order batsmen IMO a much as he's like to be, to me he's a middle order batsmen ideal for the end of an innings, but obviously there is time to improve for him. He's just got a few technical errors such as stepping far too across his stumps.
Rohit, I don't think we need 2 spinners, we have Sehwag who is more than useful and Yuvraj who can also bowl. We might find it a bit difficult bowling at the death if we only have 2 quicks.

Obviously we can give it a try against Bangladesh.
Sehwag for captaincy? He has been pretty poor with the captaincy part in the IPL. I would rather give it to Yuvraj Singh. After the initial setbacks where he was learning, he has fitted into the captain's role like its his own. He is an excellent replacement if Dhoni is not availabel.
Lovely lovely team... Full of youngsters, and some players with that vitally required experience (Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Irfan). Sachin will add more experience, but this team is PERFECT!

Lol Sai, It would burn my eyes if I saw Dravid and Ganguly in the squad. I would give up on the selectors. Good that theyare learning vital factors from the CB series.

India have fighters in the team, like Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Uthappa, etc. In fact Pakistan is as inexperienced as India. No Inzamam, Shoaib Malik is finding captaincy a thorn bed, etc. India's bowling attack is pretty good this time with Ishant, Irfan, Sreesanth, Praveen, RP with Piyush and Ojha to back up in the spin. One thing is, we might miss Harbhajan a little bit for his economical bowling, but Piyush and Ojha can pick up wickets which is a better thing.

:Uthappa cant and shouldnt be dropped. he has been pretty good for us in the CB series which matters most because it was in Australia with australia playing against us. Even in the IPL in the initial stages, Uthappa batted pretty well. he has been a very useful player for us. A very good hitter, a very good fielder, and more importantly the aggression that you need on the field. Imagine Yuvraj, Uthappa and Rohit Sharma at close in positions. Very tough to break through
Raina should somehow play. May be he can replace Sachin from the CB series, in the XI. That would be really awesome to our batting and fielding prospects. We dont have space in there for Badri, which is sad. If we had, we would have a really kickass ODI team.
