Bangladesh v India - 2 Test Matches, January 2010

Zaheer- Quality bowler. Prone to injuries however

Sreeshant- Inconsistent bowler. Can be magic one day, and trash the other.

Ishant- Pace is down, and is a scatterplot. Poor mans Morkel.

Ishant's bad period hasnt been that prolonged. Its his first downfall after all the great highs he achieved. His spell against Ponting was MASSIVELY OVER-RATED! But he is a decent enough bowler who looks to be coming back to rhythm. Sreesanth also did very well in that 5 wkt haul against Sri Lanka (that too at home on a batting pitch which provided just a little more assistance than the Ahmedabad road). Zaheer is always quality.

These three will carry India's fast bowling for quite sometime now. But our problem is if any of these get injured, we have the likes of Nehra and Munaf in the bench which is very bad news. We need to look at Irfan Pathan again and see how he has improved. And maybe give the likes of Sangwan, Mithun a chance. Our fast bowling cupboard doesnt look too healthy after these three.

Sreesanth may have been good during his come back game but it seems like he's gone back to his crap ways. If he's the most promising young bowler we have then the future looks bleak. As for Ishant, I'm doing to reserve judgment till he does well against South Africa.

Any new comer who bowls good v Ponting will get a lil hype. Eg. Roach. Now Ameer. Though Ameer has proved a lot in the recent past, he is expected to do well. On top of that he is a Pakistani bowler, they are always good.

Great resistance by the Bangladesh lower order to post a reasonable first innings score. Ashraful should really be thrashed after that shot. There's no reason he can give for going down the track in that situation. He either thinks he's better than he is or he doesn't think at all. If Rahim/Shakib had come in at that stage Bangladesh could have rebuilt a platform earlier and put up a better score.

Hope to see a Sehwag masterclass tonight.

well Assfull will be benched after this. he has to be surely. he was never good batting @ top 5, he should bat where Mahmudullah bats, and should go back to his leg spin bowling... play like Afridi.

btw did you guys know, he came into the team as a leg spinner? and then apparently became the "best" batsman in the team. And messed up part about this is, he doesnt even bowl legspin any more. he bowls his right arm crap load offie

Well he does have decent bowling averages in FC and List A cricket (34 and 30, respectively). However, it's not like Bangladesh have a shortage of all rounders who bowl spin.

thats why i am saying, Ashfool should take a break from cricket and his batting. then go work on bowling, bat lower down the order where Mahmudullah bats and play as a batting PP aggressor. Not as all rounder, but a bowler who can hit.

Mahmudullah looks to be a solid bat who should bat up the order where ashfool bats

Yeah, but Ishant got "more than that" lil hype. The expectations after that spell soared and everyone knew that Ishant had nowhere else to go but DOWN. Now that he is back down, its better for him. Frankly I was surprised to see all those accolades showered on him. He bowled well, but not the kind where you make him the "toast of the nation".

The media will always sensationalize those moments. Its too easy to make money off it

and as a player you should try to keep your head cool and not to get all ..

Ishant got really cocky after that.

Gambir's 11th fifty in 11 matches. He is in top form atm. Now just he need to bat patiently and take India to a strong position.

Veeru, yaar you missed out again after getting that 50! Not sure if you will get that chance to score a hundred in Bangladesh in the 2nd innings (if our batsmen bat big in the first one).

Hope Gambhir gets that 6th consecutive ton to equal Bradman's record. He has been batting like Bradman in recent times. WHADDAPLAYER!!!!!!

Dravid in trouble.
And he's safe. I too think the ball wasn't touched by the bowler.
Btw Mahmadullah is an off spiner?

Amiya added 2 Minutes and 31 Seconds later...

Gambhir has already equaled Richard's record of 11 50's in same no. Of matches.
