I wouldn't want to drop Bravo. Only change I see from the previous game is Rajpoot's spot. With Morris, Nannes and Bravo as the fast/medium pacers, Dhoni can give Aparajith a chance and he can be the third spinner behind Ashwin and Jadeja. Bravo bowled very well last game, and his energy, his fielding and his handy bowling is itself big enough bonuses which are added to his big hitting prowess.

Well, that's what I did, except my replacement for Rajpoot just happened to be an overseas player(Hilfenhaus)... and the only way I was going to get him into the side was if I left out one of the overseas all-rounders(Bravo), and why Bravo you might ask? Well, the only Indian all-rounder in the side(other than Jadeja) is Aparajith, a guy who's more of a middle-order bat(Bravo) than a lower-order bat(Morris).

Make sense? :)

Well Dhoni and Fleming have their own team and that matters in the end. Wonder when they will give Aparajth a chance? Maybe they don't want to threaten Jadeja's place by letting Aparajith compete for that spot.

Mohit Sharma bowled well I suppose, but I'm really not going to judge a bowlers(especially a pace bowler) T20 prowess until I seem him bowl in the death.

Ofc, and hopefully it'll be very soon, because from what I've heard/seen he looks a good little player.

You know, I'm really starting to think that all these all-rounders are more of a determent to our side than anything else. IMHO, our best side was probably the one that did the double(IPL and CL) back in 2010, and it more or less always tended to consist 5 batsmen(Vijay, Hayden/Hussey, Badrinath, Raina and Anirudha), 1 keeper(Dhoni), 1 all-rounder(Albie) and 4 bowlers(Ashwin, Balaji/Jakati, Bollinger and Muralitharan).

Btw, I'm in no way crediting all the success in the IPL and CL to picking 4 specialist bowlers, but it's definitely something to think about.

Faf is joining the team soon.

Wouldn't expect him to play against Delhi on Thursday, but him coming back will hopefully boost our top order batting which has been very mediocre so far, especially at home.

Nice, that should put some much needed pressure on the openers to step it up.

The biggest issue with the team is the lack of a decent Indian fast bowler. We have always had 1 or 2 guys that can come on and at least put the ball on the pitch decently well. Balaji IMO is a quality T20 bowler and did great service for us before joining KKR. We had Gony way back in 2008 as well and he did well for CSK. However, now we have to play 2/3 overseas guys who bowl seam up just to put together a team.

Have never heard of Mohit Sharma, Rajpoot, or Imtiaz Ahmed. Maybe they are halfway decent.

Good pickup and I think you might just be on to something, totally agree on Balaji being a quality T20 bowler and Gony before him as well, one of them in our side right about now would be something I'd take without much thought.

I think out of the three Indian (medium) pacers we've got and you've mentioned, Imtiaz Ahmed might just be the best of the lot, I'm merely going on stats ofc. Rajpoot played the first 2 games, didn't look all that convincing tbh and Mohit Sharma replaced ended up replacing him for the 3rd game, but only bowled 2 overs and none at the death... so can't really judge him on that.

Not a whole lot of changes(Anirudha out, Mussey in and Albie out, Ahmed/Jakati in) from the side that lost to Pune, it's our best side IMO and it's got to be out there. What I want to see change however is our approach to our batting, the openers(and Raina) have got to get going quickly(we bat deep ffs!), the middle order has to the supporting bit and look to set-up the game for our lower order, who hopefully will do a good enough job to finish the game off.

I like your team Epic, except for the fact that I would pick Aparajith for Imtiaz Ahmed/Shadab Jakati. I know Dhoni might not do the same, but we might need an additional spinner for the Delhi wicket tomorrow. And Aparajith is a useful spinner and a very good batsman. Anyways, having 6 bowlers is unnecessary in a T20 game. So I would replace that Indian specialist bowler with an Indian allrounder.

That would make it 4 all-rounders, bit redundant don't you think? I like it the way it is, with Bravo being the batting all-rounder, Jadeja being 'teh all-rounder' and Morris being the bowling all-rounder.

Would replace Nannes with Morkel. Can open the bowling and he is a game changer with the bat. Defo have him batting at 6/7.
