Badri is now the captain though.

How dare that Parthiv was slotted as captain ahead of Badri in the first place? :mad

India certainly favorites to win this.

That SA team excites me, Elgar was immense in his debut season in the Standard Bank cup and played a whole lot more mature and better than a 19 year old, I think there was even a match winning 100 for the Eagles in there. Tshabalala should get promoted to test and ODI cricket, enough of this emerging players and SA A nonsense, he can actually turn the ball unlike 80% of spinners playing in this country and can attack batsmen as well as defend. Otherwise the seam department of that squad isn't too great, Tsotsobe bowls like a lose cannon and can't be seen as a left-handed replacement for Ntini yet, even though he can swing the ball miles somtimes. Abdullah is a pretty good bowler, but I'd like to see how he fares against some better players, once again a lefty that can swing the ball miles.

South Africa should have Sybrand Engelbrecht in there just for his fielding. He was simply breathtaking in the U-19 WC.

I've put those other squads in, including me getting confused with Tshabalala, it sounds like a tribe about to go into battle, didn't Homer do something like that?

Anyway, I like these tournaments. Would like to see a team of ours going over, but it is the middle of the season.

The Australian Institute of Sport side are yet to win the Emerging Players Tournament since it’s inception in 2005, however they got off to the best possible start in 2008 with a dramatic ending to their opening match of the tournament.

In the earlier Twenty20™ encounter, India recorded a comfortable win over South Africa by 12-runs in a low scoring affair.

Thanks Sureshot ;)

Last ball wins are always really exciting. Especially when you need a four. Corey Anderson, the guy who got runs for us, is an pcoming all-rounder. I think he's 19. He played in the U19 World Cup and scored quite a few runs in that.

Holy crap! Imran Khan! :p

The Centre of Excellence is based at the AB Field, which is a First Class pitch, often used for tour matches and generally seen as good for batting. This tournament is probably the highest level of cricket seen at the other grounds and results will be compounded by the quality of batsmen as well as the fact that this is the off-season, even if that does mean less rain than in summer for Brisbane.

AIS played an opening batsman at no. 9 and paid the price when Sullivan went down. It seems their whole squad is light on bowling and is now going to be relying on those MRF bowlers.
