ICCCT2006: Group A

I know it would have made no difference to the outcome since it was the batsman who failed, but how do the management justify dropping their most successful Odi bowler against Pakistan for this game? The only quick bowler they have that can be relied upon to hit the right spot time and time again and they drop him?

It is this moment exactly that I have lost all faith in the English Odi setup.

If anyone even thinks about trying the, swing bowlers don't work in India line again, you only have to look at how well Pathan often does in Indian conditions, and he is possibly slower than Lewis...

So to be fair considering how bad a start England got off to, maybe you did mean Chris afterall ;)

india 4 down...damn...tony graig was wrong saying that this pitch is 250-300...its seems to be more bowling wicket...

Apparently there are more cracks in the pitch today then yesterday, being a recently relaid pitch it is often very tricky to work out how it will play.

Dalrymple has got Raina and Dhoni in one over!!
119/6!!! India can't possibly lose!! Please!!

Geez, our batting needs some serious work...

Nah, no way they will lose Zorax, although it certainly seems this was far from an easy pitch to bat on.

Full credit to Englands bowlers who have fought well despite being let down by their batsman. Had Harmison not gone for 24 from his first 2 overs, could have been slightly more nervy for India. Bit of a problem for England, that Mahmood and Harmison don't appear able to both bowl well in the same game. Would form a rather nice partnership if they weren't both so erratic. You just can't afford to take an over to get into your groove in Odi cricket.

And Bhajji seals the win with a boundary.
Phew.

Dalrymple is looking like a good prospect as a spinner. A few years, and he may be as good as Dilshan, Jayasuriya, Viru, etc.

Oh well, all we have to do to restore pride is beat Australia now.

It's performances like this that makes me glad to play Sunday League football whilst the cricket's on. I do believe that Harmison conceded 20 in one over too. Can anybody fill me in on how Anderson and Mahmood bowled?

Anderson - Wayward. Got lucky with a couple of wickets though.
Mahmood - Tight. That's it.

Woah! JD claimed 2-5 as well; Maybe this little performance will convince me to watch the highlights later. You have to admire JD really. He came into the side for the SL series without really being hyped up in anyway and he just burst onto the scene with these fantastic and consistent all-round performances.

The biggest news of the day is that Australia lost the warm-up match. They target was revised from 219 runs to 300 runs, but still.
