ICCCT2006: Qualifying Round

Yea we did the job very emphatically today, and will be looking forward to handling the tigers even better...

They'll be more like 30 year old Tigers wearing dentures in all honesty.

Today has proven that Zimbabwe need to be kicked out of the ODI arena as well as Test arena. Ireland would've put up a better fight in this game.

Well, Zimbabwe did beat Bangla, and we saw what Bangla can do. Plus, they crushed Bermuda, who are supposed to be on par with Ireland...
They have talent, just lack experience and consistency. Give them a few years, they are all kids.

Zimbabwe have talent but geez they are taking some smashings which could ruin the confidence of these players.

Without the 2 Runout's I think Zimbabawe would've been looking at a score of at least 200, it's just unlucky things and great fielding which can turn an innings completley on its head. Two very able batsmen ran out by great fielding.

Must be said, the first 2 wickets were due to poor footwork, something which definatley can be improved on.

What does that make Bangladesh? Zimbabwe beat them if you don't remember.

Zimbabwe have no talent. They're a club side at best.
No talent?:
Chibhabha - Didn't see his brave knocks in the Windies? A magnificent fielder too.
Rainsford - Already touted as a world-class bowler.
Ireland - Wayward, but have you seen how much swing he can get?? It's unbelivable!
Utseya - ODI economy rate of 3.95 after 48 matches. Has dismissed batsmen the caliber of Lara, Chanderpaul, Ashraful, Inzy, Kallis, Dravid and Gayle. Also can bat a bit.
Taylor - The Ashraful of Zimbabwe. Immense talent, just throws it away.
Chigumburs - The same as Taylor, and a magnificent fielder.
Masakadza - Youngest batsmen ever to score a hundred on test debut, against West Indies.

No talent?? All this, and they are all under 25.

For those who have seen the zimbabwe of the late 90s to pre-2003 world cup its very easy to say that they are a club side at best. Andy Flower, Grant Flower, Alistair Campbell, and for some time Neil Johnson. And then the pace duo of Heath Streak and Henry Olonga.

The Zim team of today definetly doesnt compare to that team. That team could beat India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, England maybe even South Africa on any given day.

From what I saw in the recent odi series with rsa-zim they definetly can improve their bowling. They do have a chance against Bangladesh. But based on current form, the lankans should have a stroll in the park against zim. I guess a few more yr will do them good but the events that took place from the start of the 03 wc will forever cripple zimbabwe cricket.

Well, ok, by that reasoning, let's just forgo the World Cup and give it to Bangladesh because they beat Australia once.

Zimbabawe did show immense talent today with Sri Lanka. They have managed Sri Lanka to only 285. They were great in fielding today. But I think sri lanka could win today..
