March 12 : India vs South Africa

and for the umpteenth time, tendulkar has scored a century only for the team to make it look like a complete waste!

Last time he scored a century, it was morally lost and this time it's actually lost.
Gotta feel for him.

to quote George Binoy from Cricinfo...

The favourites tag does not fit this Indian side.

if dhoni thinks he can win the WC with bowlers like nehra, munaf and chawla,
then hes obviously delusional.

The middle order batting collapse cost us the game.

Sachin and Sehwag were brilliant up front. Gambhir played well but could have paced his innings a lot better. Once Tendulkar fell, we lost buckets of wickets in a quick succession. It's a shame that we couldn't even reach a score of 300 odd runs after having scored about 150 in the first 16-17 overs.

South African batsmen were bound chase the total. It's just the sheer luck of Indian bowlers that they managed to take the game so close.

All talk of replacement needs to be put on hold. I say make only one replacement for the next game.

Kick out MSD and get in R Ashwin. Let Sehwag lead the team.

Great win by the boys, nearly threw it away but did enough even if dhoni/nehra helped a lot.

Umm, are you stupid or are you stupid?

Lol @ India. Should've got about 420 with the start they got. It's going to be a really good effort if they do end up winning the WC because you cant just rely on getting 350 every time because your bowlers suck (apart from Zaheer). I can't believe Ashwin hasn't got a game yet though, I thought he would've played from the first game of the tournament tbh..

Yeah and the problem is Sreesanth and Sharma etc. wouldn't do any better. I really don't know what India are going to do when Zaheer retires.

----------

RAINA n ASHWIN are must for the next game. Virat has to go out. Nehr a is going out for sure. :wave

Lol the same Kohli that got 120 just a few games ago..

like it or not only AUS have a clean sheet now!!! with Indias bowling attack i dont think they can go all the way any way

Awesome fightback by SA, Botha changed the game in their favour when he came on and with the help of the other spinners got the game back under control for Steyn to work his magic late in the game. Their batting still looks shaky, they really need one of the top 4 to go on.

As for India they totally blew a massive score which their bowlers could have defended. Can't believe they couldn't even make 300 with the start they got.

@ Lassana Dias

We are mentally prepared to see our team bow out at the QF stage itself.

----------

I also do not understand why people want Virat out of the team ? Dhoni is clearly not using Virat properly. True he has faltered since his 120 against BD, but he can also bowl seam-up nicely. Beats me, why he ain't being used in these conditions.

If anyone has to go out, Yusuf, that over-hyped guys needs to. Get in Suresh Raina, we need someone who can bat and not someone who can simply throw his bat around.

----------

People need to calm here. It's not the end of the world. We know Dhoni did many mistakes in this match but all we can do is move on and hope for the best for the rest.

Next match - Bring Aswin in for Nehra or Munaf.

Mistakes not in this match, throughout the tournament. His luck is running out.

Gambhir stays in the team recently just because of his reputation.

Stop acting stupid please...
Watch today's match, the rest of line-up bar Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir did little to take our score past 300. Gambhir is a veyr good batsman and he deserves his place in the team.

Disagree. We actually bowled much better today than we have in this tournament. Its just that our captain continues to amaze us with his decisions, and we still havent learnt the art of sustaining a good performance (we started off fielding really well for a good amount of overs, then tapered off and eventually fielded badly in the end). The improvement that Dhoni talks about was visible and there was a big step up in intensity due to the challenge in opposition, but there is no improvement in Dhoni's decision making.:facepalm
