Pakistan in India

This is what I think should be the order:
Sachin
Sourav
Dravid
Yuvraj
Uthappa
Dhoni
Pathan
Chawla
M.Karthik
Sreesanth
Zaheer Khan

I really any other team would be much better than that. There's no place for Sehwag and Gambhir in that batting order. However, since Dravid isn't there, Gambhir should go there since he's played a couple of decent innings at 3.

With the current squad-
Sachin
Sourav
Ghambir
Dhoni
Yuvraj
Sehwag
Uthappa
Irfan
Kumar
Chawla
Kartik

If you're going to have these new guys in your squad you might as well use em.

well gambhir is more of t20 player.....he doesnt have the technique or skill to survive in 50 over match..especially when the ball swings...but he is good player of spin...im guessing sehwag and sachin will open or sehwag comming at no3

Do you guys think they will give a chance to Fawad Alam, or?
I think they should play him in the first few ODI's to give him confidence, instead of putting him in in the last one, which most likely will be the series decider.

Well if Gambhir can bat for 20 odd overs and score a quickfire 50-70 at the top, that is more than useful in my opinion. Gambhir must not change his style for the ODI's. It does not seem his style to curb down and play a long innings. He has to go for his shots, and not worry about survival. He will still be an asset in ODI's. Sehwag was considered to be an ODI player, but he succeeded more in tests than in ODI's.

Sachin, Sourav, Ghambir, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag, Uthappa, Irfan, Kumar, Chawla, Kartik

Thats a very funny team. So you dont want bowlers with pace? Irfan has got back his pace, but these days he more of mixes them up more. Praveen Kumar is a medium pace bowler (averages 125km/hr). You need Zaheer and/or Sreesanth in the side.

Shoaib is the key .. IMO

What? No he isn't.

The whole team has to play an equal part. Afridi needs to continue his bowling performance and Yousuf, Malik and Younis need to put the batting together. Gul and Asif must keep it tight, and Rehman has to do what Kaneria couldn't.

Akthar is a good bowler, no doubt, but he is old now, and it'll be interesting to see if he can still do what he used to do.

Agree with the rest of your post except this point. As a cricketer purely, Shoaib has matured quite a bit over the years and for the past couple of years has done very well in every form of the game. If anything, he's better now than he's ever been.

praveen kumar???. y slow medium pacers??where r the super fast bowlers in india...what i hate abt cricket in india..is evryone wants to be a batsmen or a spinner..only few choose fast bowling...we shud look at pakistan cricket..they have produced so many fast bowlers down the years...

I was once like you but there are places in any team (even Australia --> Stuart Clark) for medium pacers. India have two 140kph bowlers in Sreesanth and RP Singh and a 135kph bowler in Zaheer Khan, that is a good amount of pace. Praveen Kumar is the most proven domestic performer and can bat too, not selecting him would be madness; especially after:

-Top run scorer in Kenya Tri Series for India A.
-Leading strike rate in Kenya Tri Series for India A.
-Third leading wicket taker in Kenya Tri Series for India A.
-9 wickets in 3 challenger trophy games including a five-wicket haul.
-69 List A wickets at 21.39.
-854 runs at 25.11. SR = 107.01 with 4 fifties.

let see man..wether he can prove a point...also..performance against kenya or other minnow team shud not be counted...if u go wit challenger trophy even jogindher sharma took so many wickets but he failed to repeat the same thing in internation arena...let see wether he will become like pathan or like jogindher sharma

Or Sri Lanka A, or South Africa A or Indian domestic sides; he does it against everyone he plays and unlike Joginder, he can bowl at over 120kph.

boy there is a better chance on picking a wining lotery ticket than what the Pakistan squad will be, it seems that every game they have a diferent player in the game. id like to see somthing like this.

Test Squad

Hameed
Akmal+(lets face it there not gona drop him)
Younis
Yousuf
Malik *
Afridi
Razzaq
Akhtar
Kaneria
Asif
Gul

Id still prefer Kaneria over Rehman, Kaneria has prooven himself as a good spinner while Rehman seems to be a excelent choice for ODIs. Razzaq is a good in both forms of the game, he needs to proove that his form has improved but he is a useful bowler and batsman.

ODIs:

Afridi
Hameed
Younis
Yousuf
Malik *
Razzaq
Akmal +
Akhtar
Rehman
Rao
Gul

Afridi to open as he hasnt prooven anything at #6 or 7, Razzaq is a better finisher than Afridi and would be more useful in the lower order. I would drop Asif from ODIs to prevent him from getting injured and because the 3 pace bowlers that i have in the sqaud have been in better form in ODIs, especially Rao and at the moment i wouldnt drop him for anyone.
