Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

I think that it would be a very even contest, as both sides are equal, sure Austrailla has an edge of Home Ground and bouncy wickets, Pakistan just has to focus on his batting, The bowling line is perfect.

I agree that Gul needs some rest, He looked a bit fatigued because of excessive cricket over the period. As far as Rauf is concerned, I haven't seen him bowling, But what I am listening from sports analysts over here that he didn't perform very well in domestic and there a question arises that why did he get select in the first place. There are far better and Younger bowlers there in Domestic Cricket who has performed better than Rauf in the season.

I dont think the problem with Gul is that he needs rest. He probably needs a break to sort himself out. This should be series though, the pitches will support him and I have feeling that he comes good here. Would prefer to have him over Rauf and Sami even when Gul isnt on top form

Yup, there are far better bowlers who are performing as well. Such politics in PCB

Rauf must play instead of Gull,Rauf is doing very well in almost all the side matches of each tour. It's right of Rauf to play when any of Pakistani bowler is performing less then him.

Rauf is similar bowler to Asif...that's why they will probably go with Umar Gul since he can bowl faster.

Dropping Gul might give him incentive to improve. He has been riding on his performances in the 2020 versions for far too long now. Unfair to leave Rauf behind for this.

If Rauf is bowling better there is no reason not to pick him. Gul isn't a genuine quick so he cant be that much faster then Rauf.
Doesnt Rauf bowl in the 130s?

Rauf does bowl in 130's. I'm all in favor of Rauf as he has impressed in practice matches in both NZ and now here in Aus. Also, he is a decent tailender. But given that Pakistan brought back Mohammad Sami because he's a fast bowler, I don't see them bringing in Rauf because of his lack of pace. Sadly, that's how their logic works.

Here is the stats for this sheffield shield season. I think Marsh has to be picked. Hughes has obvious technique flaws. If you are looking for a solid number 3 Marsh is your man. He has a brilliant ODI record too and could even be a permanant replacement for Ponting. Bringing in Hughes means you need to re shuffle the order and why reshuffle a top order which is doing so well.

Hes in the Bailey boat, both are having good seasons but past seasons they have been average and their FC average aren't great.

Peter Siddle will miss out IMO.

Mitchell Johnson
Dougie Bollinger
Ben Hilfenhaus
Nathan Hauritz (ffs where was the doosra? :facepalm)
