Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

Finally Tassie batting, good chance for Cowan to really push his claim for higher honours. Gul is getting smashed atm, Rauf has been really economical.

Aamer will be the big danger this summer, a much better bowler than Roach :p
Because he can bowl aggressive, good short balls and a very good line.

Already a wicket in his 1st over here in Australia

My team for Boxing Day

Phailip Hughes (perfect timing with that hundred)
Simon Katich
Michael Clarke
Michael Hussey
Marcus North
Shane Watson
Brad Haddin
Mitchell Johnson
Nathan Hauritz
Peter Siddle
Ben Hilfenhaus

ICE: Ricky Ponting, Doug Bollinger, Steven Smith, Ed Cowan, David Hussey

Not sure about Hughes though, what the Aussies really need is a solid number three batsman. Moving Clarke to three weakens our middle order. Hussey may be the one. Maybe even Brad Hodge.

Nick Jewell, Cameron White, Chris Rogers, Shaun Marsh, Adam Voges, Michael Klinger, Mark Cosgrove, George Bailey, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith and Lee Carseldine are the other options.

Pakistan will choke hard. Johnson will own them with his bouncers, and get back into form.

They can't play the bounce. Tassie is probs the flattest pitch in Australia.

you mean he will own the Pakistan tailenders. Those are the only wickets he can get.

Aamer has 2 in 2 overs, we're screwed :help

whats up with aamer and getting wickets in his first over? he is on his way to a record here.... his first over:first wicket conversion is off the hook

Gul has been pretty mediocre recently... i think he needs some rest. Rauf can be given a chance, as Mohd. Asif and Mohd. Aamer are the spearheads of the attack, so it will have less pressure on him. Plus I think he is handy with the bat... or is that Arafat.. i keep on mixing the two

Rauf and Aamer bowl really well on what our Aussie members said that it is a flat pitch.
Its time to give Gull some rest and Rauf will surely be in for the first test match.
Australia will have very hard time with such a balance Pakistan Bowling attack but it the batting which can choke Pakistan.
Umer Akmal needs to bat like he bats,no need of getting that much slower that you got nothing in the end.

Hm, Marsh is looking good, 82 and 105* so far in this Shield match. Have to see how Hughes goes in the second innings. George Bailey is on 42 from 85, and White made 14...The thing about Bailey is that while he may not be outstanding, you know that he would get the job done. My vote is on either Marsh or Hughes, for Boxing Day though.

Who should replace Ricky Ponting for Boxing Day?

The Boxing Day test: The biggest event on the annual cricketing calendar. For years gone past, massive crowds have turned up.

Do they turn up for the game? No.

As Ricky Ponting walks out to bat, the crowd will rise as one. Even me, in my traditional place in the Great Southern Stand shall jump out of my seat at the fall of Matthew Hayden, Simon Katich, Justin Langer or Phil Jaques and bellow 'Come on Punter!'.

As he strolls to the crease, and glares at the opposition bowler, the crowd will return their bums to their seats, in anticipation of the battle that is to come. They will watch as Ricky Ponting, Punter, Rick, the big RP cuts, pulls and cover drives himself to another MCG epic.

An average of 65 at the MCG is rivalled by few. Four centuries makes for an imposing record, his career high score of an elegant 257 included. It was one of the saddest moments in my life as a gritty, sublime captains knock came ton an end on 99 in last years Boxing Day test.

Sir Donald Bradman himself enjoyed to MCG with a mind blowing average of 128.53. Ricky Ponting's success at the ground makes for another comparison to the great man, and the view of many at Punter being the greatest batsman since cricket's best.

I asked something yesterday and I ask it again; "Sachin Tendulkar, are you God in disg......."

Sorry, wrong question.

"Who do you call upon to replace the greatest batsman of his era?" *waits for Indian supporters Gazza hate*

The Boxing Day test is not the Boxing Day test without Ricky Ponting. It is likely that we are going to see an Australian lineup at the 'G without our skipper on it however, so who is the best choice to replace him?

A/N: Sorry, I couldn't resist :|

Yeah, fair enough :D

*clears throat* Who should be given the ultimate honour of replacing Ricky Ponting in the Australian men's cricket team for the test match on the 26th of December 2009 played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Jolimont, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Earth, The Milky Way?
