Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

Code:
Bowling O M R W Econ
JJ Krejza 15 0 79 0 5.26

Krejza doesn't look like he'll get his spot back any time soon :p

Good tight bowling by the pacemen, not so good by the spinner and part timer. Krejza certainly isn't making the selectors regret their selection to over look him.

They are going to get killed.

Seriously, they can't play in Australia, the pitches are just too bouncy.

I'm picturing Johnson and Siddle just carving up this summer.

You are right that pitches are too bouncy, as far as easy series win goes, well we have to wait and see for that, we cant be sure.

If Ponting Cant Play They May Go For Klinger He Just Recently Made A Double Hundred At The MCG

I don't think Klinger is in the frame. All the talk has been about Hughes and Bailey, even White hasn't made the headlines but it would be between those 3 for mind. They might go with White for his part time 'leg spin'.

When do you reckon Hughes is gonna be given another go? I mean I can't see them disrupting Katto and Watson any time soon apart from through injury? or is there an outside chance it could happen if Ponting misses out?

Who knows with the selectors, it depends on whether they are satified with Hughes doing what they told him. Krejza before this match had a pretty good economy by his standards but was overlooked for Perth still so they might force Hughes to wait. We will find out soon as they will name a shadow player for Ponting.

It's a shame Hughes got worked over in England, he looked pretty dominant in SA. But the new combo of Katich and Watson seems to be working pretty well!

All part of the learning process.
A bolter could be Smith who the selectors already picked squad wise. If this was the SCG he might well have been a shoe in. Picking Smith on his batting would be the best way to check out his leggies.

Doesn't matter whether Smith is in the XI or not but it's always good for a youngster to know that he's in the selectors' minds.

He's better at batting than he is at bowling though, isn't he? I think he should concentrate on his batting and maybe bowl some leggies part-time so he doesn't put too much pressure on himself at age 20. Too much weight of expectation could see him going down the Irfan Pathan path and nobody wants that.

This would be good advice. But in australia, guys who average 50 in Tests and close to that in FC cricket can't crack the side, whereas they're picking spinners who average 40+ giving up 4 runs an over. I personally would advise any young player to hone his tweakers and try to open the batting whenever possible.

Irfan Pathan is a good comparison though. In India they ruin all their fast bowlers, and in Australia they ruin all their spinners.

Hes probably more like White than Pathan. NSW have been giving him a lot of overs to work on his consistency. I would say they have the right balance for him by batting him at 6/7 and giving him lots of overs to gain confidence.

Kamran sees Pakistan to 437 with a quickfire century. Will be interesting to see how Aamer goes here.
