Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

Did anyone notice how well Collingwood executed his shots today? Absolutely perfect they were.

Brilliant once again from Pietersen, and Sajid Mahmood is very good but does lack consistency, (I'm probably just spouting stuff which Simon Hughes said but I feel so too)

Yep, too inconsistant for me too. I hope the selectors do the right thing and go back to the original four with anderson next in line once they are all fit. Undoubtably the best 5 pace men in our country in my opinion.

I agree, but it's nice to see he has something there that can be worked on. Very raw but he's tall, quick and reverse swings it very, very late.

Yep, still, has to do a lot more to swing my vote, not the biggest fan of him, and 3 wickets against Sri Lanka won't change that. However if he continues in this vain my opinions may change.

Saj Mahmood has shown a lot of talent today and England are in a commanding position. 551-6 dec and 91-6!!!!!! England are really top quality team. we're doing to teams like Sri Lanka what the Aussies and the 80's Windies used to do. Hopefully we can win both ODI Series'

Yes but we still live in hope. Although we have progressed leaps and bounds in ODI format there is still a lot of work to do. I would expect that England would beat Sri Lanka - just. But there is a lot of improvement needed to beat Pakistan.

Yes but England can beat anyone at home in my opinion and I think the key is to play players who are in the test team instead of playing awful 'ODI Specialists' like Prior(don't see the point with Jones) and Plunkett(Too Slow and not accurate enough to cause a threat). We should play people like Cook, Bell and Hoggard

Hoggard should be nowhere near the ODI team. As much as he has improved in recent times, he is still easy pickings in ODI's.

I know Jones batted ok but another dropped catch today. Did anyone see how easy it was?

Yes. His feet went nowhere and didn't even attempt to go two handed first.

I must have missed that bit but overall Jones is a good keeper and a very talented batsman who is handy to have at the lower order.(especially in OD Cricket)

Then lets put him in the OD team and drop him from the test squad...

Why? He has just started to get a grip. He did fantastic in India and seems to have much higher concentration levels now. I would keep him.

I'd prefer Jones to Prior, Read and Foster. Jones is a good batsman and a improving wickie. I'm pretty sure Read will make the same mistakes Jones does and there is no point in dismantling a winning test team

Prior made some sloppy errors in the One Dayers in India. Lets face it all of the current crop of Englands keepers will make mistakes on the big stage. Jonesy is the best of the lot at batting and keeping. Besides Freddie needs Jonesy
