Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

England can only hope now that the football team and Murray don't lose.

5-0. England have let their fans down in this series. How on earth can you be beaten so convincingly when you bat first and score 321. I really hope Fletcher has some strong words with his bowlers; the batsmen scored decent scores in all 5 matches, but the bowlers were just disgraceful. What a pathetic shambles. We need to win teh Pakistan tests now.

Except Murray isn't English.....

D'oh! British, then. Either way, he is the only one of the three left.

Is Colin actually Scottish or just living in Scotland?

If the former I hope he doesn't see that :D

JD is a legend.

The selectors need to be dropped, as does Fletcher for ODIs.

didn't know Ashes was tests...

Well dude, i'm also referring to the injuries England is having right now. I know december is a lot of time but they may not have Vaughan and Jones, Giles is half sure. Hamirson is currently struggling, Flintoff has too much pressure on him, and only the openers/pieterson look sound.

You'll need some really good bowlers to confront Aussie batsmen in their backyard. They'll be looking for revenge, and it'll be a tough tough challenge for these guys.

Though i want England to do well, i doubt that'll happen

The Ashes tour starts in November not December.

what a victory.... :cheers
WELL DONE SRI LANKANS, especially Sanath, Tharanga and Mahela for their superb batting, scoring two centuries each.
BEWARE Dutch people, some records are about to be broken by Sri Lankans.

AND I feel very sorry about poor Englishmen, who lost everything today. :crying (Cricket, Football, ....may be their dignity too....??!!!) :help

I wouldn't get too excited; you were hardly tested were you? Although I suppose you have to deal with what's thrown at you, regardless of how poor and indisciplined it is.

don't be angry with me, it's only a joke...

I know you are very unhappy today. Go and have a beer and have a good sleep today.. :cheers

Who said i was angry? I was just sayin that you shud keep ure feet on the ground; if you beat a team like India 5-0 on their home soil, then you can start thinking you are a great side. Beating an injury-plagued England ODI side isn't that impressive; every team does it.

Full strength or not that was some thrashing. If Sri Lanka could have gone on they would have joined the 400 club. Amazing opening partnership, to get 280 odd in a ODI from the opening pair is just out of this world.

Great play by SL this looks more like the team that was ranked 2nd in the World only a year ago.

any more excuses? You have to play with what you have, can't complain. England lost, miserably. point.

SL is a very new team, except for Jayasurya and the captain, and Vaas, and still they murdered England.

Valid excuses nevertheless

Apart from Harmison, all of our experienced players were batsmen, and we batted pretty well throughout the series. However, our bowlers- except Harmy- were vastly inexperienced and got absolutley hammered. However, Sri Lanka had experience in their bowling; Vass, Jayasuriya, Fernando etc. so they bowled exceptionally. At the end of the day, England were slaughtered, but If we had are key players then we could have least won 1-2 games.
