Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

Is the game and series over for India? or there is still a glimmer of hope? A lead of more than 100 would be handy considering how our batsmen have fared out and how well Aussie spinners have bowled. I would love to see a gritty performance from the Indian batters in the 2nd innings to make the test match more interesting if not than "Australia retains the Border - Gavaskar Trophy".

Yes unfortunately it is over and I'm starting to fear a 0-4 whitewash for us in India. If we don't win a single game in this series I'd say Kohli should give the captaincy up. This is absolutely ridiculous, I understand Australia have played really good but we're getting outplayed on our own pitches. There is no excuse for a performance like this. Also, what happened to the "no repeat of the Pune performance", this match is simply going to be over tomorrow. The other thing is that there hasn't been a single ball to Kohli that has got him out, he's getting himself out and in the process has hurt the team badly in the middle order. He's leaving balls that he was attacking against England and NZ, why is he hesitant in his approach all of a sudden.

Its not over yet man, even if 0-4 happens Kohli is the best man to lead and bcci will definitely back him for atleast 4 - 5 years

Interesting day ahead of us, expecting 20plus wickets to fall today. Anything above 150 will be extemely difficult to chase in the 4th inns.

Thats knee jerk to the extreme. Even if its 4-0, there is no danger to Kohli. If we start taking decisions like that, we won't see a stable and good captain.

Chill guys. India will win this match.

There's still a chance. But for that, we must wrap up Australia before they hit a 75 run lead and then bat extraordinarily well to get a lead of 150. If we can get a lead of 150, we can be in the driver's seat. But seeing the way we have batted in this series, it looks highly impossible right now.

Yes who's going to step up and play? They'll all just throw their wickets away to Lyon tomorrow and lose tomorrow itself by an innings, all out for a 100.

Yeah but losing 4-0 in your own country is terrible and if it happens there should be serious consequences for it. Right now it seems like one team just wants it more and our team certainly isn't playing anything like they should be and they look overmatched right now.

Jadeja bowled least number of overs and got most of the wickets. Why didn't Kohli use him more ?

Jimmy Anderson over the wicket tailing it late into Renshaw! Plum LBW or caught at bat pad. Can already see it for the Ashes! But what a temperament this kid has! FML! Shastri on Hindi commentary and Gavaskar on English!!!

Jadeja has bowled 4 overs on a pitch where he's your trump card! Superb! India's quicks have been superb but they've been thoroughly overused and Ashwin is bowling the negative line post lunch!

87 wasn't enough it needed to be 120+

He's a dud captain

87 isn't enough ? That's freaking huge man. India couldn't make 200 on day 1 pitch. Take away Rahul's score and India doesn't even reach 90, which is the lead. You are undermining the lead here. It's a big one.

Well it's definitely game on now! Big opportunity for india if they can get 250-300... then thats going to be pretty hard to chase one would think. Suppose if the lead is under 150 and the indians open with both spinners, I'd love to see smith send out hazlewood to open the batting and just give him the license to go after the spin! I mean if he got 15-30 runs he's done his job... if not then you haven't really lost much anyway! [HASHTAG]#tailendersboomboom[/HASHTAG] not [HASHTAG]#tailendersblockblock[/HASHTAG] in any situation!

87 is a HUGE lead on this wicket. I kept saying 300 was what India needed in the first innings. 225 is a good second innings score, but because of India's heroics in the first, we need a mini miracle.

We are a batsman short and India are forced with no choice but to bat with application like we did, 87 won't be enough

And it's exactly what India has been doing for the past 3 innings, right?

This match was lost on the first day itself.

I have no problems with losing but lose with a fight, not surrender meekly.
