Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

It is not just Indian fans and media. Even the former cricketers of AUSTRALIA have criticized Smith for his actions and have stood alongside Kohli's action.

Criticism is different from a media witch-hunt. Does the Australian team deserve criticism? Of course, yes. Does the team deserve a media witch-hunt? No. It's not just the media either, the way some of the fans have reacted is very poor. Expected much better personally.

Rather than being sad about this whole issue i fear that this series doesn't turn out like the ashes 2013-14 which was the most ugliest test series I've seen so far where send offs were being given on almost every dismissal and personal attacks were being made and we all know that infamous line by Clarke to Jimmy " get ready for a fu**ing broken arm "
I just hope nobody from both the teams does that sort of a thing or reaches to that level of sledging

There's a difference between The Ashes of 2013/14 and this series. The former had drama on the pitch and it's important to note that at no point did it cross the line. The Australian team gave everything it had, so did the English team and there was a well fought contest. Yes, a few words were exchanged but it was nothing over-the-top if you consider the fact that fans and players of both sides are used to taunting the other team's players. The Barmy Army's song for Johnson is an example. Also important to consider that whatever battle that took place in that series took place on the pitch in balanced conditions. Not once did the media interfere and make it a huge issue nor were the pitches specifically designed to ensure that the away team had no chance.

Did the Warner punching Root incident happened during this series?
Even if it didn't then also it shows that things do happen off the pitch as well and media does interfere and make it a big issue.
And also I remember that during that ashes Jonathan Trott left the series in between because of depression or maybe because of how bad the series was turning out.
I may be wrong about this but a lot of things or sledging happened in that series which was over the board by both the teams and was not pleasing to the eye
Btw it wasn't a well fought series at all.
England were thrashed by just one bowler and Australia made 500+ scores time and time again and declared
I loved the series for just one reason and that was mitch johnson's bowling but other than that nothing to like about that series.
Even Clarke admitted to this and in next ashes series that took place in England he vowed not to resort to too much sledging and focus more on the game.
Although it didn't turn out that way as in England they were thrashed by Jimmy and Broad

Anyway this thread of India vs Aus

I think aus team for Thursday could be

Renshaw
Warner
Smith
S.marsh
HandscomB
Maxwell/Stoinis
Wade
Cummins
O'keefe
Lyon/Swepson/Agar
Hazelwood

I wish Lyon's bowling finger heals well.Stoinis hits 146 at Auckland ODI in 2017,but he could be in because Australian tradition to keep 3 seam bowlers.

Australia is only country who selects test player with their Forms and performances of ODI because multiday games not starts til the ends of Australian summer so talented players like Sayers and Patterson never get chance to play and other failure like Cartwright,Henriquis, etc get keep selected for nothing

Maxwell will do better than Stoinis if selected. Neither are ideal choices but Maxwell has the X-factor and experience of playing in these conditions. Stoinis is too big a risk to take at the moment because of how raw he is.

I am appalled by the way Kohli and India have reacted following the DRS issue. Smith made a mistake and apologised for it. What has followed since then is nothing but an extremely clever smear campaign by the Indian media to tarnish Smith's image and portray Kohli as the good guy here. The same thing happened in 2008 when Symonds's image was permanently ruined by India and Harbhajan Singh based on baseless claims. Symonds never recovered from that and his career went to waste. It's a shame to see the BCCI and Kohli adopt the same tactics to attack the opponents' best player. Awful, absolutely awful.

I love it when criminals who've committed murder go about giving moral science lessons and teach society how to live. It's just laughable how you Aussies are so bloody vulnerable and yet go about telling the cricketing world how cricket is tough and if you don't have the 'mentality' for it then you should sit at home and bla bla bla bla. Seriously, some of your ex cricketers, fans and cricketers themselves need to grow a pair or stop preaching the cricketing world to do so.

What is truly appalling is the fact that a cheat is being portrayed as some sort of victim. What's even more appalling is the fact that good fans like you are buying this garbage. Even if in Australia's fantasy land this is some sort of campaign then deal with it or if you can't and want to cry about it, then don't go about preaching 'tough cricket.' The whole Symonds and Harbhajan Singh row has been done to death. First of all, Bhajji did not call him that, he called him something in Punjabi which sounds like the m word but doesn't have any racial slur attached to it. In a video, Uthappa has accused Symonds of the same but the Indians didn't go about running to the world to accuse the Aussies of something so serious.

I love how you're accusing the BCCI of all this when history is proof how fair the Aussies are. I mean surely there must not be a team of saints like the Aussies are there? History is proof that the worst cases of cheating have come from the Aussies and boy you chaps have gotten away with it. Good on the Indians I say if this is all a propaganda because it's about time someone put these spoilt turds in their place!

I'm going to bury this topic here and now because it's getting utterly boring and no matter how much I scream from the rooftops, things won't change. But, I will defend my country and it's captain or players if shit is hurled at them. One thing I'm totally delighted about is that the Aussies have done a marvellous job of pissing Kohli off, and history is proof that he becomes twice the cricketer in that mood. I hope that MRF bat sings some tunes in Ranchi and Dharamshala. The head of the snake is due! Watch out!

That's because he has played 10 innings more than Virat .
Credit should be given where its due. To be that consistent for an associate team when you know that he has to soak up most of the pressure, Shahzad has done exceedingly well to score that many runs even though most of his runs came against fellow associate teams itself.

Let me ask you the same question, does the team captain/player deserve a media witch-hunt? No. Just check some tweets by Fox News Australia. They have listed Virat Kohli among the animals of villain sort of. How do you justify this?

If Aussies get media witch hunt then it is wrong. If others get then you guys just pop-up and support these act. I'm completely shocked to see how low the Aussies can fall to put down someone who hasn't done anything wrong but has shown to the world the mistakes done by Aussies. What wrong did Virat do? Accused Smith for his act, was wrong? Then who has to do it if the captain of the opposite team can't? If MS Dhoni was the captain then he too would've done the same with his role as captain.

... you Aussies are so bloody vulnerable ...

Excuse me? Calm down and please don't paint the entire country with one brush. I know there is a mild irony in making this statement, as it could render me so-called 'vulnerable' but I'm more than happy to cop that to call you out on saying all 23 odd million in the country feel the same way.

Expect another "poor" rating

Ranchi pitch in horrible condition for third Indian Test | Cricket | Sporting News
Another turner on the cars folks! This is disgusting to have such a pitch for the 3rd time in the series. It all comes down to toss now , win it and you're more likely to win the match as well.
This is bad news, India HAVE to win the toss or we may go down and not win the series.
Former wicket keeper Engineer suggest India should offer Australia or any Touring team to bats first in india for test matches, he suggest no more toss in test matches,i think its good idea because VIRAT claims toss dose not matter our bowlers either 4 or 5 will dominate on any wicket at anytime.

On your turner comments, australia aggrey to play 4 test in India of which 3 for debut
ground, no one knows how its behave except curator.Gary Sobers belives PUNE wicket was sets up For Indian spinner's advantage (aus 149 for 2 -202 for 9)

But its backfire and O'keefe become unlikely hero : 12 for 70.myself sunderpune, predicts India win ranchi test but Australian seam attack will take important part in beating india at Dharamshala.so series will be 2/2.India remains number one for entire 2017/18
