Maxwell is here !!! Let's see what he does

Umesh!! Gets wickets whenever he is called up to bowl. He has to be one of the best old-ball bowlers going around in modern day cricket. I hope he can nip another couple of wickets here to get us back in the game. We need to get Maxwell out quick or he could take this away from us very very fast. I would stick with Umesh with the amount of reverse that he is getting here. Probably bounce him first and then go for the quick full yorker.

One thing that has got to change with Umesh is his intensity to a new batsman. You have got to have the ability to pick up a string of wickets when it is reversing and not just one. He has to start picking wickets in a bunch when he is in rhythm with the old ball. That is something Zaheer was so good at. He would look harmless for a while but when the ball got old, his pace would be up and he would get us wickets in chunks to turn games around. Although Umesh has bowled superbly this season, he hasn`t got wickets in these bunches.

On another note, India are missing Shami badly here. Him and Umesh with the old ball would`ve been a constant threat with the old ball. Ishant is mediocre and at best can be a stock bowler.

Have to appreciate the class, grit and determination of Smith. Reason why he's the best in the world. While I want India to win, I really want to see Maxwell do well. Too good to not be playing all formats.

Much better pitch for this game by the looks of things so far, its obviously low, dry and abrasive like a typical sub continent pitch tends to be, and there's probably every chance its going to disintegrate to a minefield later on in the match, but I think both teams have won a session each so far and the match is evenly poised after 2 sessions. First innings will be vital for both teams obviously both teams will want to bat as long as possible with the hope of taking advantage of the pitch condition later on in the match.

Anyway how's this for a statement... I reckon whoever is batting at the start of the 2nd session on the 3rd day will go on to win the match!

Good choice by Aussies to Induct Maxwell. He has always been brutal against spinners. Some fearless cricket down the order was necessary for Aussies. Though, He is acting sensible at the moment. Great Job. Smith, What can I say, ever strong and replying with his bat at the moment. Solid performance so far. Initially when they were three down, I thought the lineup will be wrapped up soon.

Whoever is batting at the start needs to get atleast 400 on this pitch
This is a kind of pitch that is similar to some of those played in the England series
Difference being that if Australia do get a big score in the first innings then India could be playing the chasing game considering the quality of Australian bowlers as compared to England ones
During the England series India were able to score more than 600 in their 1st innings and dominate the game but I think winning the toss might benefit Smith more than India would have anticipated

Australia well on top here. With Kohli not fully fit, I expect them to dominate this test from here on. I predict a double for Smith and Maxwell to get a hundred. Australia will score 500+ here. Serves us right for going overboard with the post-match sledging and made a mountain out of the DRS molehill. We are clearly struggling against the grit shown by Australia on this tour. They`ve clearly been the better of the two sides without doubt.

Ashwin has looked toothless and so has Jadeja. Only Yadav looks like taking wickets everytime he bowls. Ishant is a liability and its high time we realize that.

The first 2 test pitches were rated as poor and below average... sounds like you just need "better" curators...

Who the hell am I? A member of the forum and a fan of the sport. The Aussies have been renowned bullies but when you give it back, they wet their nappies. A bit like this post from your side. Exactly who cheated here? Where is your proof that Smith and his men cheated? STOP MAKING FALSE CLAIMS! They are indeed the victims because the Indian media, fans and team spearheaded by Kohli-BCCI have have seriously criticize the opposing team, labeling them cheats as you yourself has! In the case of Andrew Symonds you guys always come up with some BS, and the facts remain that he was attacked in a way that had genocidal undertones. This I agree with the Aussie cricket teams have been known for not playing in the spirit of sportsmanship, claiming drop catches, bullying/sledging and mishits etc. In recent times though the Indians have gained a similar reputation, Tendulkar claimed a drop catch off Dravid in one of the earlier IPL matches, the Symmonds issue, bullying AND STEALING ALL THE PROFITS FOR THEMSELVES WITH THE INTRO OF THE BIG THREE DEAL......can go on and on. Saying the Aussies are spoilt turds you are? Then the Indians are worse than turds.

I agree Pune was pathetic and it's been going on for a while over there along with Nagpur. Bangalore is generally one of the better wickets in India, but I agree it was not up to scratch this time. The issue in our country is that it's huge and cricket is like food. You just can't get enough. The big series should generally be allocated to the big cities, but then people in the second and third tier cities are deprived of watching the big games.

I can safely tell you that the Indians aren't doctoring any pitches. If you saw the English series, the pitches were high class.
