Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

India could consider declaring at tea with a target of 200+. Then try and get 3 or 4 Aussie wickets to get an psychological advantage going in to Nagpur.

I agree. We are 141 runs ahead now with only 10 mins past lunch. If we can get to 200+ lead by tea (which we should), we should declare and think about doing something to the Aussie batting before Nagpur. If they go for 200 in 30 overs, we would love it as it would open up big chances for us. If we get few wickets, its a psychological advantage for us as you said.

Indians are going for a draw right now which is pretty obvious so I guess Australians will really have to play the same cricket (Barring the 1st Indian innings) in the next test.

Yes it's heading towards a draw

Nagpur' match will be quite interesting as the Kangaroos will be fired up hard to make a series draw but in vain pretty much confident on Sehwag who will be back in form with a bang !!!

How about we all calm down:cool:
Anyway what's the pitch like at Nagpur (usually). Spinning track or more of a flat batting track.

I hear it will be a bowler's graveyard with loads of runs for the batsmen

Praying for Harbhajan in place of Kumble (hoping that his injury is worser now, and doesnt heal before the 6th)

Still there are 59 overs in the day,India right now is playing very safe, they are not going after the bowling at least for now,i guess after some time,if both stick there and dont loose wicket then possibly they might just start hitting few shots, and if they loose 1-2 wickets then they will play for draw, but mostly the result seems to be only draw.

Lets see.. I dont care about Aussies fired up. Its a new match, and anyone who starts well carries the momentum.

They wont be going after the bowling. They should not show the Aussies that they are trying to set a target. Spring a surprise if the situation is good enough!

Edit: Do the Aussies have balls? Didnt know that... I thought they were.....

I m not sure but as this site says be happy ! Bhajji might come back if fit...

Even if there is no Harbhajan,I'd be happy as long as Kumble is replaced by anyone else.

Yes this brand of cricket is unlike to us but it helped us to smash you guys 3-1 last time around. So I don't see whats so defensive about it. IMO its more tactical if anything.
You haven't beaten us 3-1 in at least the last four series. And you didn't "smash" us either. You won 2-1 and if the last day hadn't been rained out in one of the Tests (I believe it was Nagpur), the series would have been drawn 2-2.

If Roy was here we could have smashed you

If Warney was avialable we could have crushed you

So cut out the word If

Well I was arguing that Australia didn't "smash us". Regardless of if-s and then-s the series was much closer than "smash"-worthy and I was pointing out how different the result could have been based on just one day.

As for Warney--well we all now how useful he is against India.

And a mod note. Please stop flaming each other and making generalizations based on one's nationality. If you had a post deleted, you are probably on thin ice so I would suggest cooling your head with a bucket of ice.

Warne never really toured India at full fitness, but there's no doubt that even injured, he would be doing a better job than White/Krejza.

As for Symonds, I'm so bloody sick of people whining about him being out - if we'd actually picked the best available batsman instead of the best available batting all rounder, we wouldn't be missing him at all.

Just seen Marsh is in the field. Who is he fielding for

India should declare at tea, with whatever lead they have. Would be interesting to see what Australia, the AGGRESSORS:rolleyes: do. Now Sachin and Lax should start scoring more positive.

I hear that they will pick the Indian team for the next test today. Wasnt the side already picked for the last two tests? Anyways, Gambhir can play the next test because he has appealed (and the hearing is after 7 days only). India should name an unchanged team with Dhoni as captain (Kumble most probably not going to be fit).
