Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Ya no doubt as M.Clarke said tomorrow only one team will play for a win that would be Aus,no doublt, they will go for kill, but if India wants to declare and then give some chance to Aus they will min post around 200/250,and will play for min 1-2 sessions, their might be even a possibility that India might not declare and go on playing,or they might even declare just 1 hr or 90 mins remaining in game.

If India are going for the win they will declare after lunch. I suspect they will probably declare after tea if they aren't bowled out. Make sure they have the draw and then try a miracle.

But whatever it is, the words of Zaheer and Laxman (that of Australia being defensive this series) is true, no matter if they are the ones going for the win here. It just doesnt matter, because they have played a brand of cricket that is totally unlike them in this series.

India play the same defensive brand of cricket. I mean early in the Aussie innings they only had one slip when they had 600 on the board. Even sending in the night watchman last night sends out a clear message about their intentions.

Yes this brand of cricket is unlike to us but it helped us to smash you guys 3-1 last time around. So I don't see whats so defensive about it. IMO its more tactical if anything.

Attacking cricket is not about having 5 slips and trying to get a wicket every ball or trying to score at 4-5 runs per over everytime. Its about doing everything you can to give you the best chance to win.

"The wicket would be inconsistent, and I think we can bowl them out tomorrow. I don't expect them to declare, but we will bowl them out."

I like pups attitude. We should attack them early because usually things happen on day 5.

Indeed, on this pitch, one slip has little to do with it, much less five. Take a lesson from Sehwag; bowl a drivable length at the stumps until one gets through.

India playing very safe here,i dont think they will declare soon, becase they arent playing that fast, lead so far is 89,at least they will go for 200/250,becase in last test Aus players had good score in 7-8 overs,so seems to be a draw at least for now it seems. If a wicket falls here or two then possibly India will feel pressure,at least for now they dont seem to be in pressure.

Third wicket goes,Dravid's poor form continues,it was a good delivery, but look how he played, poor footwork...actually he has the best footwork or he used to have, but in last 1/1.5 years,he hasent done much...

Hope Sachin doesnt give chance to detractors today to talk about his second innings statistics. With Dravid, its just the side effects of being a great where they wont accept anything less than your best from you. This was very ordinary by Dravid's standards and I now seriously doubt his ability to overcome all this and have one shot at a glorious patch.

I was just talking to my dad about how India should show a little positive intent by getting to a lead of 220-250 by the first hour of the second session and then declare. But just as I said, Dravid's stumps were re-arranged

Edit: That was very good reverse swing from Lee! Finally working eh??:D

It was a beauty, though. Very fast, invited the drive, but it tailed in late. One should hope that it makes a batsman look bad.

Why does Dravid look so good and then throw it all away? It's beyond me. I just hope they don't drop him after this series because he's looking good, he's just been a little unlucky. Not in terms of umpiring decisions or anything, so you Aussies don't have to get your panties in a bunch. He's just generally gotten off to positive starts and shown signs of going on to get a big one and then gets out. Although his scores have been similar to those in Sri Lanka, it's been a different Dravid. It can't be long before he gets it right.

TBH,India's fielding could cost them a potential series win here. Asu deficit of 36 could have been much more, thanks to Mishra,Ishant and a few others.
The match is heading for a draw, but one can't deny the fact that the Aussies have the upper-hand here.

He'll be the highest run scorer agaisnt England. :happy

Lee's seam position is really good right now. No surprise that this has lead to him getting reverse swing (I think it is). Now he just has to put it on the right length as right now Tendulkar is taking him for runs.

Also I don't know why hes going around the wicket for Gambhir with this movement. If he can get it moving into Gambhir he will be a real handful.
