Bangladesh v India - 2 Test Matches, January 2010

Finally, Captain OZ speaks some sense :p

India can't claim to be the best till they beat SA and Australia home and away. Likewise with SA.

Australia were never the best team in the world even with the likes of Gilchrist, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, etc. WHY? Because they never beat India in India. They did it only in 2004. So before that, they were never the best team in the world and all that aura was FAKE!

Lol so which team was the best in the world? India? South Africa? Did they win a test series in Australia during that time?

:facepalm

:facepalm So did they or did they not?

Bottom line is they did win, and they dominated everywhere else in the world. They were the real #1.

They declined after they became #1. All the talk about them being the best in the world was during that period between the late 90's and the early 2000's. After 2004 (or maybe a year later), they fell.

Ask Australia to come and beat India in India and then talk. It still cant imagine how different it would have been had half of Sydney's howlers went in our favor (esp. the Symonds nick). Thats a major:facepalm

Oh come on!This is Bangladesh Vs. India Test series thread.I think one should start up a thread 'PC Indians Vs. PC Australians' which would help to keep all other threads clean.Everywhere I visit it's always filled with 'India is no. 1' and then someone comes up 'No,Australia is no. 1'.

In 2008 they were ahead by 40 points in the rankings (that was the highest) and by 12 (that was the lowest). They didn't fall of anywhere, dominated for about 14-15 years. Only 2 true #1 sides in the history, West Indies and Aussie.

Good idea Mr. Basher. If you are not able to express with word, posting a pics won't do any favour.

One thing for sure, whether India win or loose, they have to face the bashing everytime.

You offended by it? Who says Im looking for favors?

Mostly because of the comments the large majority of their fans make...

Arrogance at it's best.

And if you think Australia wasnt #1 then you are the DUMBEST ████ out there. They went to WC finals 4 in a row, won WC 3 in a row, they won it 4 times so far. They started dominating after WC-99/2000, and then they started to TRASH and KILL. Think about the WC 03 final. They dominated the cricket world for 10 years, and they had all the right to be arrogant. And they werent some kinda joke #1 with some kinda stupid rankings and bullcrap. They werent #1, they were rulers of world cricket, batting, bowling and fielding. And we hated them. Even some of their own supporters. They were too perfect. Even before the toss we knew who was going to win. It wasnt "cricket is a funny game" when it came to Australia.

You just got to "number 1", and you already started your bullcrap. You think you guys are getting pushed around because you guys are now number 1, and we hate you for that But no, it's b/c you guys acting like buncha Pontings with Asraful's bat. Meaning you guys dont get to act like how Ponting acted, because YOU ARENT flipING THERE YET!!

Just shows the IQ level of those who comment on India's work on the field based on fan's reactions.

And cant you guys come up with something new other than the same old worn out phrase "dont cry over that incident", etc? If you had the mind to read, I talked about it because of the India-Australia history and India's performance against Australia out of which that SCG test was a part.

I never found anything wrong in the way the Indian acted in this test match. Sehwag is not a great speaker and he is just a stand-in captain (Dhoni will never speak like that). And also even with Sehwag's words, he never said anything offensive or bad. He spoke the obvious. Many dont like listening to the obvious and so Sehwag was bashed. And the 'schoolboy' comment, Indians have sledged even before that (its not as if we are starting to sledge because we have become #1). The "Mashrafe Mortaza WC 2007" incident was a sledge too (off the field). Parthiv Patel sledged Steve Waugh in his final test (he said "Come on Steve, show us some of your paddle sweeps" to which Waugh replied "When I started playing cricket, you were probably in your nappies, so show some respect"). India's sledge dont work often because we are a volatile side that can have our lows more often than some of the top sides.

Till South Africa and Australia can beat India comprehensively at home, I won't be calling them the bests in world cricket. Same applies with India. Though we've been quite consistent for the last couple of years, we need to keep up the consistency and thrash Australia and South Africa in their backyard. Bottom line, a best team can't be determined ATM.

There you go. Simple reasoning. What's with all the fight and mud-slinging then?

No see people comment on some ridiculous comments by some India fans on their teams performance after which the Indian fans go on a rampage about how everyone hates India or nobody ever gives Indian cricketers any credit. Its a good number of you guys that make Indian cricket look bad, rarely ever is it the players.

Cant you guys come up with something new other then crying about the incident that happened a long time ago.
And out of all the historic matches India and Australia have played against each other you choose that one :sarcasm, come up with something else dude.

Yeah because that match was played in recent times and according to our argument, we are talking about performance in recent Ind-Aus encounters.

The Indian fans talk that way because all they hear from some people is just negative comments about India, their performance or reacting negatively to comments made by Indian fans. If you give credit where its due, why would they go on a rampage? Again I say, those who base their opinion of Indian cricket on a few fans are MINDLESS!!

Said the same. Its almost the same as their theory where if you beat Aus, SA, England, etc in their conditions, its greater than those sides beating India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka in subcontinental conditions. They deem subcontinental conditions easy whereas their own conditions are the ultimate in the world.
