ICCCT2006: 1st Semi Final - Aus v NZ

Bracken just hit the most unco six I have seen in my life. Despite that, he at least managed to actually hit the ball. Why is Johnston above Bracken in the order? That needs changing.

Bond was unlucky. We would of gone for fours minus a lucky french cut and that six. That run out though was fantastic.

The bowling was superb. Franklin let us down a bit but came back well. You just saw, after he got that wicket, he bowled his fastest ball. Then a faster one and an even faster one. He is very much a confidance player and he had none early.

Flemings captaincy was top draw yet again.

The death bowling was great from Bond and Mills. The upfront bowling from them was even better. Bond very unlucky not to get Ponting on a few occasions, i'd say he won that contest, Ponting isn't kept at a 30 odd strike rate every day.

GAME ON! 240 is chasable. Now our batsmen have to get out there and do it! Aussies have McGrath with Bracken and Lee who both could be difficult too. The main thing is, we have a good game of cricket on our hands. I would of been a little happier with 230 or 220, but we have a chance.

I look forward to Vincent, Fulton and Marshall all are over due for a decent score. Aussies need to get Vincent out early because he will be the key to us getting off to a flyer. No matter what the ball is doing, he will attack. Chances are he will go out but if not, watch out!

The pitch played better then I thought.

lts looking shallow now 3 wickets down.

if we lose another 1 or 2 wickets i think it will be australia's game

4-30 Fleming Gone. Can't do it every game.

We are missing Styris in the middle. It is just so suspect to a collapse.

As I said, early wickets could trigger this. And it's happened.

McGrath destroyed us. Lee got some ungodly seam which none of our guys had any luck hitting the sumpts with :/

I hope we can graft to 200 and take it from there.

i think the lights are encouraging this swing and seam for australia

our best chance was always chasing down.

marshall and vincent looked like they didn't know whether to attack or defend and astle was out to an excellent ball and with fleming he had to get the runrate up which cost his wicket

Vincent's dismissal was a poor way of getting out... And Astle...i expected something from him... but he went for nothing!!!

The game is in favour of Aussies atm!!! Aussies showing once again the top class bowling...McGrath was really impressive!!! :happy

You don't say lol. We lost out 2 best batsmen.

Fulton is capable. He might just be overlooked. Really he needs in the vicinity of 100 if we want to win.

Now I think it puts the pitch into perspective. I don't think any team other than Australia would of coped so well.

Another gone! Fulton gone. Game over I am sure.

I don't like ODI matches turning into tests. I want to see boundaries and the consistancy of pitches has been poor. These conditions are taylor made for McGrath. The closest we had was Mills and now I understand, 7 wickets between them so far.

At least we lost to the best side. We beat SA and thumped WI at home so really, this was the final. Aussies have no excuse for losing from here.

fulton out, oh well it was good while the hype lasted

McGrath. Thats all it is. Between any side and Australia. Once McGrath throws in the towel at least Aussies will be beatable, unfortonatly it will be after the WC rather than before you suspect.

Now McCullum gone. Not that it matters. It's all over.

Getting to the Semi's was an achievement in its'self. We can be proud of that. When the Aussies come here for Chappell Hadlee we will compete.

I think it's all over for New Zealand, since they are at New Zealand 35/5 after 14 overs.

New Zealand are just a really ordinary side. Thier bowling is decent, but thier batting is pathetic.

i heard from commentator when Aussies were batting,

" The pitch conditions are similar to NZ pitches and we are seeing NZ in Mohali!!! "

This was what he said!!! ;)

Also can anyone say what happened to Craig McMillan ?

We bat to 11 but at least some runs had to come from the top 5. They all failed.

I saw it comming. Unfortonatly there isn't much you can do about it. Maybe come down the track and try hit McGrath early. It is impossible to stand in your crease and play him.

Tendulkar was out to him and that I believe proves it.

i have to admit our batting looks very pathetic and im not sure if we have any talented young players either

Lee was a bit wayward, still out main strike bowler is McGrath. Great bowling by Bracken, hes looking lethal. Can't wait to see what Johnson can do on this pitch with his pace.
Still hope for the Kiwis, Vettori always bats well against us.
