Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

I just have a few statistics-

When India have lost the toss and been put into bowl- Last 5 tests excluding this one-

Australia 260 all out - R Ashwin 3/63 - India lose by 333 runs.
England 477 all out - R Ashwin 1/151 - India won by an innings and 75 runs.
England 400 all out - R Ashwin 6/112 - India won by an innings and 36 runs.
England 283 all out - R Ashwin 1/43 - India won by 8 wickets.
England 537 all out - R Ashwin 2/167 - Match Drawn.

Average - 41.23

I don't need to include this test because everyone knows what happened. I will maintain that he isn't as potent a weapon without a spinning track or runs on the board. People talk about his performance at home, but he's had a lot of runs to bowl at the worst of times. I'm yet to see him perform when we have the backs to our walls on a tough track on a consistent basis. His best performance this season ironically was the first innings in Bangalore against Oz, in my opinion. Perhaps, the most overrated cricketer in my 25 years of watching cricket.

So its a draw! Who would have thought after 3 test matches it will 1-1 considering the preseries scoreline.
Full credit should go to the Australian tean
they have prepared well coming into the series and were outstanding in the 3 tests so far. From India's point of view Jadeja has been sensational throughout the season and deserves the credit as much as Ashwin got and he might be again our no.1 first choice spinner going abroad.
Going into the final test its Advantage Australia to retain the Border-Gavaskar series unless its a Turner (most possibly) and India wins the toss.

Smith has shown that he is the best in the world by quite a margin. It would be stupid not to admit that, as much as i am biased against Australia.

Really disgusting play in this test by the Indians, playing out for a draw they had plenty to make a match out of this but!

And in contrast to the above Jadeja's stats have been outstanding. On a similar circumstances in Chennai it was Jadeja who picked 7 wickets in the last inning. I completely agree that he was been found wanting on flat surfaces and even on turners when he is under the pump.
On the most overrated cricketer there will be few outside the subcontinent and so called legends. One for me is Mitchell Johnson !

Smith is a legend :)

Well well every page on fb is sh*t these days now its from the Australian side just saw some comments (immature, irrelevant and mostly) from Australian people on the official Indian cricket team and BCCI fb page.
The virus has affected them too it was always the other way round (Indians,Pakistani and from last 2 years Bangladeshi) used to do that in other country official pages but they are giving it back now.
ThankGod we have planetcricket otherwise cricket discussion in internet is like felling into big hole of negativity and never coming back from it.

I disagree with this. Ashwin is without a doubt the best bowler, and even the best all-round cricketer, in the world at the moment. He has had a few innings where he has not performed to his complete potential as pointed out above but are we going to let a few samples decide the outcome? Kohli, Rahane and Pujara have had a few bad innings this series and in the past ones by their standards, does that make them below-average batsmen? This is a player who has broken records for fun and is coming off a couple of years where he has put up ridiculous statistics. 134 wickets in two years and the fastest to 250 career wickets. That's something that one cannot argue against. As to his performances in Australia/England/South Africa, we'll have to see when India tour them next. He has changed markedly since 2015 and has matured a lot, so it's a bit unfair to judge him now by his performances in 2013-15. I don't mean to demean Jadeja but I'd say the latter has benefited off Ashwin previously in the sense opponents see him as the "easier" target to score off. Of course, this has been emphatically proven wrong. Jadeja is going through a spell where he's virtually unplayable but from a skill perspective, Ashwin is better.

I'm 200% certain in saying that most non-Indian fans would do anything to have a player like Ashwin in their team. Marvelous, simply marvelous.

Generally through all the areas of the game, all due to conglomerate styleINDIAN (BCCI) influence on the game last 15 years or so.

It was always going to happen especially since most Indian CT supporters on FB are still crying about the DRS incident plus of course they were telling every Aussie Supporter how India is going to win the match yup according to them The Aussies were going to collapse after the lunch :)

I have no issue with Australian fan giving it back to Indians but there a was post of Dhoni today in one of the page having a tea but the Aussie fans even went on ranting him as gay, flog and Comparing him with Haddin. I usually expect such post only on troll pages from the Indians and Pakistanis but lately like i said the virus has spread all over the world!

I think it would be better to not give attention to such idiots by talking about them.
