Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

5/310 I think both sides will be pretty happy with that. India slightly ahead because they have the runs on the board but great effort from the Aussies as well after first session. Siddle got Tendulkar :D Victorians own Tendulkar , first White and now Siddle. Wait for Dave Hussey to get him out next match .lol

Well done to Sachin!! Great achievement , he deserve every record he gets. What a champion...

If we can get Ganguly out early tomorrow things will be interesting. Anything less than 450 is below par on this pitch IMO.

ps - 2 issues for me in todays play. Why didn't they refer Ganguly's stumping to 3rd umpire ? if he was given out things couldve been totally different. But I guess its just part of the game huh. Other thing is the nature of these Indian pitches , they need to put something in it for the bowlers. I really dont think we gonna get an even contest between bat and ball.

Dont worry there will be a result in this pitch. You will see the nature of the pitch when India bowls.

Jaques is going home. I would say bring Marsh to India.

Injured Jaques must return home

Opening batsman Phil Jaques has been ruled out of Australia's tour to India because of a persistent back injury.

Among the possible candidates to replace Jaques in India are Shaun Marsh, a member of Australia's one-day side, and Chris Rogers, who played his only Test against India in Perth in January, and 19-year-old Australia A opener Philip Hughes.

Marsh has ODI experience and would be the best choice for me. Katich has secured the opening spot for the end of the tour at least anyway. A bit belated but congrats to Tendulkar for reaching the record today and also to play a good innings to go with it.
A nice first test wicket for Peter Siddle, White's first test wicket was Tendulkar in the last test and Monty Panesar's first in 2006!

Has anyone noticed that both White and Siddle got Tendulkar with their first wicket?

Who did Warne get with his?

For Jaques, Marsh IN

Cant believe how stupid the aussies are going into india without a specialist spinner.
Sure our up an coming spinners arent that great but there still a better option than cameron "cant spin" white who rarely even bowls in state cricket.
No way we can win the test series without a spinner taking 2-3 wickets an innings.
Lucky our batting lineup is so long because looks like the best we can do is play for draws or hope for an indian batting collapse.

I cant see us winning a single game all series if we dont get a specialist spinner in there.
Wont surprise me if every game ends in a draw.
Or Indian spinners wipe us out in a game and series ends india 1 -0

I hope Phillip Hughes gets a call up. His in a similar mold to Gautum Gambhair, with a first-class average of over 50 and a similar type of player & size but I think that Hughes will end up being the better batsman then Gambhair.

Provided that Hayden retires within' the next 2 years, if Hughes gets his chance then he'll be one of the batsman to watch out for the next 10 years.

Great achievement by Sachin! Congrats to him.
What is more satisfying is that he played a good substantial innings to set the stage up for India to get a healthy score.
And yes, it was a pressure knock as well because India were 164/4 on a good batting track.

Missed the whole day`s play as I was busy attending college but hope to catch a bit of the highlights later in the evening.

Did not watch the game today but how is the wicket looking.
Is it the kind of `road` you see in Pakistan or you have been seeing in Mohali for the past few years ?

Out of curiosity, is anyone as sick of Gavaskar as I am?

Possibly the least biased tv 'personality' going around :p

sorry mate, hadn't refreshed the page

I think you have`nt heard Ranjit Fernando,Stutter Ali Khan (sorry Athar) or Aamir Sohail !

If Tendulkar would have been there,it would have been good for India tommorrow, becuae he reads and plays better to new ball, than Ganguly now new bastman in,he will take more time, but a day of records where 3 records were registered 2 for Sacgin ,1 for Ganguly.
But still India should not be over confidant, because they need to post around or more than 500runs.

Some interisting stas about Sachin Tendulkar:

It's perhaps our habit. When the match's going on, we post what's happening. After the match ends, attacks and counter attacks begin. :D..
