Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

No fixtures to cover Champions trophy, for players to prepare for Australia series
http://usa.cricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/366418.html

Finally! A semblance of a good move from the BCCI. I'm happy to see importance being given to this series and the way they want the players to prepare for this series. Wish we also pick the right players and have the best team to fight out against Australia (Australia will still be slight favorites becoz they are WC and they won their last series in India).

Kumble retained as captain even when he should be dropped.

But honestly Misra and Chawla will be sitting duck against Aussies. But you never know maybe another Bhajji like emergence could have been witnessed.

Looks like Symonds won't be picked for this tour so either Watson or Katich will take his spot. I would be leaning more towards Katich who is a better player of spin and is more handy with the ball. This is assuming Hayden makes it back, if not then Hodge may come into the picture.

Clarke is an arrogant person, showing his true shades. Roy >>>>>>>>> Pup anyday

This has nothing to do with Clarke you absolute idiot. I genuinely wish some people on this forum would actually read the facts rather than speaking out of their arse, particularly when it's not even their own country (whom they should be supporting).

On the Friday there was scheduled an optional net practise. Roy decided not to attend due wanting to get away before the game (as he usually does). And so he went fishing in Brisbane. However on Friday morning (after Symonds had hit the water) a team meeting was called, it was mandatory. Unfortunately, because he was already on the water, and so out of reach for phones etc he never got the message. And so a committe of the Australian coaching staff, the senior players featuring most likely players such as Clarke (obviously as captain), Hussey, Bracken and such. The decision was made by the power that be taking into the consideration imput from the senior players.

Lee joins team for India tour

Brett Lee ended his self-imposed exile and joined his teammates in Darwin to mentally prepare for next month's Test tour to India.
Lee, who withdrew from the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh after the break-up with Liz Kemp, has never played a Test in India and will be desperate to perform in the cricket-mad country.

It will be great to watch him against Sachin and Sehwag. Just one month away, one of the most anticipated tours of 2009.

Harbhajan doesn't care whether Symonds tour India or not

The whole of Australia maybe waiting with bated breath to know if Andrew Symonds will eventually tour India but his bete noire Harbhajan Singh says he just could not care less.

Symonds is reportedly nursing a grudge against Cricket Australia for downgrading his racist charges against the Indian spinner in the Sydney Test, which went on to affect his commitment towards the team.

Learn to deal with stress, Chappell tells Symonds

Former India coach Greg Chappell has advised beleaguered all-rounder Andrew Symonds to learn to cope with the constant media glare and handle off-field stress.

"There are a lot of stresses away from the field. The constant focus of attention on everything that you do, anything that goes wrong will be highlighted," Chappel was quoted as saying in 'The Age' .

Bhajji row behind Symonds' diminishing commitment: Report

Eventually, the Australians were convinced by the CA to downgrade the charge, allowing Harbhajan to escape a ban and Symonds just could not digest that, reports "The Age" .

"To this day Symonds has not forgiven Cricket Australia for what transpired in an Adelaide federal courtroom eight months ago," the report said.

"Harbhajan's reprieve infuriated Symonds, who felt abandoned by administrators he believed were more interested in kow-towing to India than protecting their own," it added.

He (harbhajan) is right,he as a member of Indian Cricket Team is not only fighting (going to play matches soon) against Symonds, but they are going to fight and play against the whole Aus team. They should not target one man,but the whole team (target in sense of winning matches) and then only they can win series.

Just over a month to go for the start of the first test now !
The first time that I have been looking forward to a game as much since the India-Australia series in Australia last year.
Should be a cracker! Hopefully, this will not be an anti-climax.

I actually feel that India are the team under pressure because they are expected to replicate their performances in Australia last year.I hope it does not get to them.
It got to them in 2004 when they were expected to win after a great tour down-under.

Especially the batsmen of Indian Test Team are under pressure... they were blown away by Mendis-Murali in SL. They would be under tremendous pressure to perform on this series, especially Sachin and Ganguly.

Yep, I really think this is the Series which decides whether Ganguly stays in the side, Because IMO since the Pakistan Series, He's looked in rubbish form.

To his credit Ganguly batted well against Saffers but in SL he was like is oldself.

In SL,Tendulakr,Ganguly,Dravid and Laxman looked like a bunch of schoolboys playing at the international level. I hope they all fire against the Aussies coz the last time round all had failed miserably.

And please,No to Parthiv Patel. If he keeps we all know who will win.

Greg Chappell to help Aussies master India

Greg Chappell is willing to slip some of the secrets from his experience of coaching India to prepare Australia's defence of Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the upcoming Test series next month.

The Australian team will play four Tests in India and Chappell will pass on his inputs on the Indian team and conditions to coach Tim Nielsen and captain Ricky Ponting, who will be in charge of a relatively inexperienced team following a string of retirements in recent years.

Finally what and how the bastman handles on feild matters a lot, even if (Greg) tells few secrets, might be of Ganguly (bowl to his ribs, outside off stump) or of anybody, these Indian cricketers can handle all these things, and Garry will help them too, assist them if the players fail.
