Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Shaun Marsh has been called up to replace Jaques. Dave Hussey is a bit stiff, but I think we need another opener. Katich is a spin specialist, so why are we wasting him at the top of the order?

I reckon for the next test:
1. Hayden
2. Marsh
3. Ponting (c)
4. Hussey
5. Clarke
6. Katich
7. Watson
8. Haddin (wk)
9. Lee
10. Johnson
11. Clark/Siddle (if Clark is unfit)

Probably smarter to play Watson than White, batting and bowling better at the moment. Then use Clarke and Katich as our spinners, and although it isn't ideal it's better than wasting our time with White IMO. He's not ready yet, clearly.
I'd reckon they would leave Katich up there and pick four front line bowlers. Lee, Johnson, Clark/Siddle and Watson won't cut it. If Clark isn't fit I'd rather see Bollinger get a guernsey, we really need to be able to get these elusive 20 wickets. Also, don't think Siddle should be dropped on his form.

Although it's stiff on Hussey, Marsh's experience in India really gave him the edge over him. Plus the fact we needed another opener maybe it all him. I wouldn't play him if it means Watson at 8, as we need 4 bowlers that get in on their bowling alone.

If stuey is not fit then we shall play baldy boy ;) I still prefer Huss over Marsh, no matter what he has done in IPL. Huss is Mr concistent and Marsh is hitter . Drop Watson bring Roy, Watson keep bowl continously on leg side (right handed) nothing helps us.

Marsh isn't just being picked on IPL, it was already known that he can bat pretty well. Roy isn't an option, sadly, but Watson has gone okay lately anyway. Which Hussey are you talking about, because Mike I'll agree is consistent, but if you were referring to Dave, you couldn't have summed him up worse. About as consistent as rolling a die.

A usual fixed customer for Zaheer Khan? Do you even know what you're talking about? Hayden's hit over 200 runs alone off Zaheer Khan's bowling in Test Cricket.

Take away his 2 cheap dismissals (bad umpiring decisions) over Hayden in the 1st Test and Hayden averages over 40 against Khan in Test Cricket.

That's true. But it's also is a fact that Zaheer has dismissed Hayden 7 times in test matches along with Harbhajan and Ntini. So it's getting a bit even between Khan and hayden I guess.

I think Zaheer Khan was fined more so for stupidity rather then descent. To give a batsman who has just dispatched your bowling all around the field a "send-off" following his dismissal (by another bowler) is about as moronic as you can get.

Zaheer was fined . that is fine and correct decision as well but there shouldn't have been any complaint from Ponting or Hayden. Anyway I don't think Zaheer will care, he secretly wud have got double amount from BCCI or teammates :D to keep his morale up

He'll still be as lethal as he was in this match :D

Great win India, they're the best team in the world at the moment.

Was there a hint of sarcasm in that ?
India are definitely up there with the best in the world but Iam not sure whether they are `The Best`. We have this habit of going from the sublime to the ridiculous with our performances.

Actually we've beaten Australia frequently in the pasy year or so in all formats...Can't get better than beating a World Class side...

I just realized that Australia have not beaten us since the contoversial Sydney test earlier this year which was 4 test matches ago.
If you see the past 4 test matches and consider it a series, India would take it 2-0 !

Good win for India though, they totally out played Australia. It's gonna be a tough tour for England

I don`t think so.India have this habit of upping their game against the world champs and just slacking off a bit against other sides.
I would not rule out a challenging performance from the Englishmen.

And let us not forget, we have not won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy yet. So let us not jump the gun.

I think that India will win this series because all players of India r in form,

Dont worry folks. Its just India and not England so everythings fine in Australia.
