Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Great ball from Lee just had Sehwag stuck in there!

But Gambhir looks positive as usual. Hope Dravid and Gambhir take India forward without seperating. Edit: Dravid's back? Those two cover drives were just CLASS!!! The commentator said he's back to his best!

Johnson the half volley wide specialist! Very surprised that Dravid got out to that ball.

Lee has bowled with good pace so far, way up on his average speed this series.

The problem in that was probably that Dravid didn't reach the twenties. He got out for 11 runs.

An interesting start of the match.

Dam just went to get some sweets then come back Dravid gone ah. He looked good but went after a wide one but he looked at his best loose shot.

It was a Sehwag type dismissal that Dravid got into.... Surprised that he went after such a wide ball.

And here we are, under pressure. A bad ball puts us under pressure. Dont want to see another one of those "lead throwing" games. We won a good toss, and the pitch is two paced already. Typical Indian wicket, a Kumble wicket. We need a good score!

Australia have to try their best to get Tendy out ASAP. He's just awesome while batting in Delhi.

He has the lowest average among batters like Ganguly, Dravid, Dhoni, etc. He averages only 44 at Delhi.

I have seen him play very well under pressure in Delhi, the last one I saw was against Pakistan in 2007. The average is definitely low as the pitch is not too good for the batters. I can see a lot of cracks in it and a bit of grass too.

This is just going to show how much Australia needs Stuart Clark. Johnson got Dravid out basically because he knew he wasn't going to get his runs from Clark's end, so he had to play his shots off Johnson. Makes such a big change to the bowling lineup.

No. the pitch is a good one to bat on for the first two days. the grass is just there to hold the pitch up from breaking. Its not grass that will help the ball move laterally. Its two paced at one end, but is still a good one to bat.

Well if the pitch is good to bat on in the first 2 days then I guess Australia might regret not playing Jason Krejza. The pitch should really help the spinners but it still depends on how White does this time.

Yeah, a lot like the McGrath effect, Clark is important. It's a shame no Siddle though, he was our best bowler last game.

Really good start for the Aussies. Getting Sehwag out early means they can probably work on the ball for the reverse swing, as well, since they won't have to be concerned with stopping a flurry of boundaries.

So far this is Australia's session. If India get through without losing another wicket then honours would probably be even at lunch.
