Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

He bowls at 145-148 kmph at times. The recent one came against pakistan just before he retired from ODIs, 145.1 kmph ball. When he bowled that ball, The batsman, I don't remember who, just didn't know what to do, had put his bat horizontally to defend himself from the ball, which in turn resulted to be a good Straight pull shot, when the ball hit the bat at the ideal time. If you get what i mean. :) So, he's a fast bowler!

He started his career as a fast bowler tbh. :)..

What? 145-148kmph? Thats better than what Ishant and Zaheer have bowled this series, and close to the Australian express fast bowler's pace?

I highly doubt that number....

Kumble will cut cake today.:p

Lol sid! I'm sure he does, but it's too early, there are 4 wickets left to take. ;)..

KBChandraw added 0 Minutes and 51 Seconds later...

145.1 km/ph. That's printed in my mind like it happened with the 10/74 one. He did it against pakistan.

Haddin's game plan seems to be along the lines of hitting out against the bowlers no matter what conditions. It's pretty well suited to ODI but imo if he doesn't show a bit more restraint or atleast controlled aggression at test level we might do well to look at developing a more long term prospect like Paine or Ronchi.

That is a pretty harsh judgement of him though and atm it's probably too early to tell, but that shot against Kumble was totally unecessary.

It's surprising to see as he produced a number of collapse saving knocks for NSW last season. Hopefully it's just the conditions as he is yet to play a Test match in Australia. Once he gets back home we should have a better understanding of what the problem is.

Series is Indias now. Aussies have not beaten us in last five games. Next up is nagpur Indias spin paradise.

Knowing our luck, White will probably make a ton now and justify his selection for the next Test and it'll cost us our chance of levelling the series.

He's definitely the best keeper/batsman in Australia currently and he should be allowed to prove himself not just in India but over the course of the Australian summer as you said. I'm actually pretty confident he'll do well on more favourable Australian pitches against NZ and South Africa.

I suppose we did have Gilly as test keeper for 8 years and they both play in a pretty similar aggressive style, no matter if we are 5/100 or 5/400.

At Nagpur, we are not playing at the Vidarbha Cricket Association. we are playing in a new ground and a new pitch.

Yes, and the stadium is to be unveiled on November 6th. Interesting, could go either way in that test IMO. It'll be the first test ever to be held there, and most of all, if india can even hold australia to a draw, Series is really ours then..

This match is destined for a draw. They should bring Ganguly higher in the batting order, since he didn't have much time to bat.
