Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

While it is harsh on Badrinath (especially since he has been dropped from the England ODI squad), it is a smart decision to replace an opener with an opener, and an in-form opener, too. I just hope Badri doesn't fade into domestic cricket here, and gets selected for the England Tests, since he should be a drop-in after Ganguly retires.

I also hope the BCCI swallow the pill and accept the Gambhir decision. There's no point in spoiling the cricket atmosphere here. Complaints can be made about the imbalanced decision-making made by Chris Broad after the series is done and dusted.

So what will happen if they play Gambhir ? Would they award the game to Australia as a forfeiture or just classify this as an unofficial test (like with that Shewag incident). This is India , anything can happen I guess.

Hopefully they give Krejza a run. I wouldnt mind if Siddle or Bollinger come in for Clark just for this test. And Punter please win the toss , if they win the toss its pretty much all over......

BCCI should let the game go on without Gambhir, and then can take up their appeal. Yes, Gambhir loses a test match but a single test doesnt matter. Its not going to shut his career like how it threatened to in Harbhajan's case at Sydney (being labelled a racist is quite dangerous to a career).

Sad but true!

The wicket according to sources is very flat,i read that on this wicket only two 3 days matches have been played,no International matches,India wins the toss, obviously they will choose batting, and try to put a score around 500,that will put pressure on Aus to surpass that score and then to put lead on India.

I hope, and I'm sure with Dhoni's mentality we won't, we don't fall into the trap of playing for a draw.

I am thinking of the same too, but in Indian cricket, its not all about the captain's decision that too when a big series trophy is on the line. The selectors (or maybe even the BCCI!) could come in and ask him to do it their way

Dhoni seems the type who'd go along with them off the field, but once the match starts he'd do it completely his way.

Just heard from someone that Clark has been replaced by Krejza :noway If it was Bollinger and Krejza in for Clark and White I'd be happier.

Good Toss to win. India can put up a decent score. I think 350 would be a good score on this pitch batting first.

You guys will be getting a lot more than 350. Expect 500 today and maybe another 500 tomorrow. This would have to go up there with the worst ever bowling lineup in the history of cricket. Lee, Johnson, Krejza, White, Watson...

Dont say it guys. I expect an Aussie surprise today where they do well above expectations. India will feel pressure for sure. Hope Dhoni can act as that influence to keep the pressure down.

Winning the toss gives quite an advantage. Hope India capitalise.

Over 8rpo, really poor start by Lee the supposed leader of our attack. Once again Johnson's most lethal ball is his bouncer.

I think our odds tell the story. $3.50 at the start, $4.40 when the worst XI you could possibly name from that squad was chosen and $4.90 when we lost the toss.

edit: Now up to $6, we're paving new ground

Speaking of paving whats this pitch made of exactly
