Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Landmark.jpg

What a stat.

And in 19 games at new stadiums in India, they have only won 4.

We can't lose. :D

Wow, that is impressive. But I guess it's time for someone to break the coincidence, don't you say?

Also, see the rate of the players played between the teams. The first test match to the 100th test match for australia, it took 35 years to complete their milestone, and even bigger margin has been recorded for australia to reach 200th test from 100th in 39 years. Considering WWs were happening in the mid 1900s. And the Difference started to crawl down, with only 17 Years to complete their 300th test, and 12 for 400th test, 10!! for 500th test, and Just 9 years for 600th Test and merely 9 years again for the 700th test match, great record overall and considerably, i'd be admiring the aussies for their form and winning ALL of their landmark matches SO FAR.

1.5 hours remaining and 32 overs to be bowled. And I didn't read on cricinfo that there were any interruptions.

Anyway India is having a good start again. Laxman has scored 300 runs without getting out.

The difference between Krejza and White is that Krejza was willing to toss it up. Bit like Paul Harris to K.P in the SA tour of Englan. It was brave and it eventually worked out a few times. The key difference is that Krejza spins it a lot more and the captain has used him as a wicket taking option. If i was an aussie fan i wouldn't mind the runs because he's getting the wickets. He's beating the bat a fair few times.

A First Class average of over 50 really doesn't prove him to be a wicket-taker. His 2 wickets today were incredibly fortunate, Dravid played an England-Esque shot, going ridiculously hard at the ball, not using soft hands in the slightest. Then you've got Sehwag's shot which was just ridiculously poor, trying to cut against the spin off a good length delivery, awful shot selection. Neither were particularly good bowling.

I'd probably say that these 2 spinners would struggle to get into any international side around the world. South Africa have Harris who's better, England have Panesar, Swann and Patel, India have Harbhajan and Mishra, Pakistan have Kaneria and Afridi, New Zealand have Vettori and Patel, West Indies have Benn, Mohammed and Juggernauth, Bangladesh have Shakib and Razzak (Razzak was very impressive against South Africa yesterday on a first innings Wanderers pitch).

I'd say the only side that either Krejza or White would have a chance of getting into would be Zimbabwe, not exactly impressive. All the spinners named above are better, all of them miles better than White. If Graeme Swann was Australian he'd be miles ahead of anyone in the side and probably domestic cricket. He's not afraid to give the ball air, he gets massive turn, he gets wickets and he's a fantastic batsman. He'd waltz into Australia's side atm. Same can be said for Samit Patel as well I reckon.

Sachin and Laxman looking good here, Ponting must be sick of the sight of Laxman, 300+ runs without dismissing him. England had a similar problem with Hashim Amla in the recent test series, just couldn't seem to get him out. If both Sachin and Laxman make tons, it's India's to lose. If Krejza can get turn and on ocassion get even Sachin looking a little uneasy, then Harbhajan and Mishra will run riot.

Also, LOLZ at Johnson. Dropping Tendulkar in the 80's, nice work Mitch.

From what I've read on cricinfo Johnson dropped an easy chance. Maybe he wanted Tendulkar to get a century.

I totally agree with you there. I never said he's a wicket taker just ponting is putting a lot of faith in him or using him as a wicket taker. Unlike Smith with paul Harris. lol i thought one thing Johnson isn't bad at is fielding.

Great stuff Johnson next time someone wants to know how to drop a series Johnson will have a book on it.

Shane Warne has just released a statement saying he hopes to help Johnson with this book which will be called "Dropping Test Series for Dummies".

Lol

Mr Krejza gets his 3rd hes certainly causing the Indians problems with his variable bounce he gets.
