Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

i most probably beleive this game to finish with a result.and one more thing, india needs to look for more wickets tommorow and try to bundle them up before tea.

congrats vijay for an impressive debut.this guy is my senior in my college (doing CSC engg 4th year).

How the hell did Krezja get 8 wickets?!

I drifted asleep watching the game - Ganguly and Dhoni were hammering him to all parts. I'm guessing most of his wickets were the batsman's fault.

If that guy can take eight, Harbhajan, Mishra, and Sehwag should bundle the rest of the lineup quite easily. Should.

Well done Jason Krejza, but honestly, he did not deserve 8 wickets. The large majority of his wickets were due to major batsman error. Not forced error due to them being tied down, but trying to really attack him, which on a turning, bouncing pitch is suicide. On a flatter, non-turning pitch he'd be taken to the cleaners. Hence his FC average of 50. Bowling in England he'll get hammered, you need variations, guile, clever changes of pace, stuff like that, I didn't see much of it from Krejza. Was just flight and spin, and then thanks to the pitch Variable bounce. He's not going to be the next Shane Warne, his FC average proves this.

Doesn't really matter how you get them though. Obviously in one performance you could argue it's not an indicator of how good he is but if he carrys on getting them then it doesn't matter. Everyone says Broad gets crap wickets but he's already got 55 at 26. Don't think he gives a toss to be honest. :D

I can see Australia winning this match, They'll probably get to about 500-550 tomorrow, ThenI can see them bowling us out for about 300 Max, Then chasing it down..What a crap day for us, Australia played Bhajji well though in all fairness.

Australia's best day of the series. There have been some strong periods for them, but on day 2 of the 4th Test, instead of petering out, they grabbed hold of the game and continued to hold on until stumps. India lost 5/130 and in reply Australia batted with immense confidence. They showed great heart after a mixed first day and all of a sudden some freakish bowling put them on top.

It was interesting to see that the pitch which was expected to play into the hands of India's spinners seemed to be more mild after the change of innings, suggesting that Krejza's turn and flight might be of more relative worth that previously reckoned. Although 441 is a lot of runs, this series has seen innings go well past that and a lead is very gettable for either team. It's been amazing cricket so far, but tomorrow the contest will be at its most demanding and thus it should be the best time to watch.

The match is currently to the Australians side

I m the happiest person now since Bhajji's 300 Bakra was Punter :p man you should have seen Bhajji he was feelling like doing Bhangda on field as i m feeling now! :p

Harbhajan needs to strike early tomorrow. If Krezja could get 8,the Turbantor has certainly played many more matches than Krezja and has experience on his side.

Perfect!!! When the Indians came out on the field today, I told that they had a sense of fulfillment already that they have done whatever they needed to do. Laxman and Ganguly were talking to each other (probably abt their 100th test and final tests), and everyone looked so relaxed. And thats terrible because they are still playing Australia!!!

And now, Australia find themselves in a position from where they can get a victory and retain the trophy. I would say its 50-50 now but just letting Australia come till here is not good. Harbhajan has to show more tomorrow and get India a lead of a minimum of 100+. Anything below 100 and we would be under pressure because they have Krejza.

If Krejza can get that much turn, Bhajji and Sehwag should be able to emulate that.

They haven't looked anywhere near as threatening as Krejza has after 49 overs. Maybe this is due to us not being over confident against the spinners, but still does put his efforts into perspective. How he goes in the 2nd inns will certainly give us a good indication of what happened in the 1st inns.

The Aus of old has returned as well scoring at 3.85 runs an over. With that type of scoring rate India's total doesn't look so big after all. These two just need to apply themselves again, see of any early movement from the pacemen then don't play any cut shots to Sehwag or Harby that are too close to them.

the body language of the indian players look as though they are playing against
bangladesh. i.e as though they can just run through their line-up without
much effort !

for all the dhoni fans out there, what happened to the "captain who led from
the front" ?? if it was kumble, you guys would have blasted him for
poor captaincy and defensive tactics. fyi, for the aussies, picking
up 1s and 2s today was like a joy ride !

The reason Harbhajan/Mishra haven't looked as threatening as Krejza is because the batsmen played him with respect. In contrast, Krejza came off a game where our second XI thrashed him to all parts so obviously he wasn't treated with too much respect. In the second dig if we give him a little bit of respect, but still play him aggressively, we should deal with him well. In fact, if we did just what the Aussies are doing against Bhajji and Mishra, Krejza would've had 2-3 wickets to his name: wait for the loose deliveries.

Your insecurity shows when you attack Dhoni after one bad day whereas you defend Kumble after, arguably, 10 bad days in the captain's office in this series.

He still would have ended with 5 I suspect as he got the tail out and Dravid was always falling against him. And you could say that about Sehwag as he was always going to get out to him one way or another.

That is definitely the way to play him but he wouldn't have leaked 200 if India gave him respect as he didn't bowl 200 runs worth of bad balls.
