Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Your insecurity shows when you attack Dhoni after one bad day whereas you defend Kumble after, arguably, 10 bad days in the captain's office in this series.

well, if people can label him as one of the best captains after just one
test match, then i think my statement is justified

People haven't labelled him as one of the best captains after just one Test match. He's been the ODI captain for a pretty long time, now, and also a very successful Twenty20 game, arguably the hardest format to maintain some sort of control over the opposition, especially when things are not going your way.

Besides, he stepped in as Test captain once before against South Africa and did a commendable job.

Hence, your statement is not justified. It's not just the 2nd Test that we are judging him on--it is a more careful consideration of the job he's done in all three formats over the last couple of years. And if you're comparing him to the job Kumble's done, then Dhoni only looks better.

Well this match is evenly balanced and shaping upto to be climaxing the end we usually get to experience whenever these two cricketing giants play each other.

Tomorrow/ rather today third day first session first hour should decide where this match is heading, win to india or defeat to australia:p or vice versa.

Its simple indian spinners against two of the best australian batsman still batting on this trip whoever have the honours in that period should eventually end up on the winning side.

This match could also show us which nowadays is a rare sight of indian spinners running through the opposition.

As for dhoni it really is his first real test of captaincy and we only hope n :upray that he comes up triumphantly as he often does. He is a real street smart cricketer.

So guys just sit there n enjoy what could be a RIPPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.... of a match as they say in Australia.

Its going to be a ripper:p

:cheers

Well Katich is the key wicket. He looks in sublime form and i've seen it before. Boy that was carnage. I know many people will scoff at this but the inclusion of Cam White is looking like a smart one. If Cam unleashes its curtains for India- he can hammer 50 in just 25 bowls. I'd open with Sehwag and Bhajji today.

the body language of the indian players look as though they are playing against
bangladesh. i.e as though they can just run through their line-up without
much effort !

for all the dhoni fans out there, what happened to the "captain who led from
the front" ?? if it was kumble, you guys would have blasted him for
poor captaincy and defensive tactics. fyi, for the aussies, picking
up 1s and 2s today was like a joy ride !

Dhoni was proactive, Kumble was reactive... We dont rate captains just by the results that the team gets. Its about what the captain does and how he does it. Dhoni did well yesterday too and kept trying to make things happen. Bringing Harbhajan to open, immediately switching to Ishant after Bhajji didnt do much in the first two overs, then bringing Bhajji immediately when Ponting came in and then immediately switching to Ishant next over to torture Ponting with both his nemesis, etc.

Similarity between Harbhajan Singh and Indian Media is one word HORRIBLE

I did not found out a single headline about Krejza's 8fer in his debut. Where as there was headline about Harbhajan's 300 Club. The most crap headline was.

I have Shown Him Who is Boss by Harbhajan Singh.

What a prick

Why would they give him a headline? He gave away so many runs, and in the process got those 8 wickets (also because the other bowlers didnt look like getting many of those wickets)

And about Bhajji's comment, if you are not used to all this by now, GOD SAVE YOU!

Mate if it wasnt for him, India wouldve made 600+. Thanks to him we still have a chance to retain the trophy. In any case 8 wickets on debut (breaking few records) is newsworthy I reckon. Give him some credit.

It doesn't matter how many runs he gave away. He nearly took the whole innings wickets for only 215 runs. If he was a team everyone would be saying how good his team were going having the opposition at 8-215.

^^^

About Dhoni......I think he is a great captain. Only problem is the workload. Wicketkeeper , key batsman (even more responsibility once FAB 4 gone) and captain is lot for anyone. Hes playing all 3 forms of the game + IPL , India play lot of amount of cricket as it is. Is it worth risking a burn out , hes far too important player for India. I know you can rest him here and there. But resting your test captain is just not right.

I agree he gave away so many runs but it was his debut. How many players has achieved 8fer in debut ?

Poor Dravid having an absolute shocker this series. Missed a sitter by his standards and it was Katich. It wasn't the best shot from Katich hes not one to go for those types of balls.

Yeah, it was a great shock for India.

stop arguing about Krejza's 8 wicket haul. It is a rear feat. I agree with the Aussies this time.
