Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

It can't happen. These remaining players can never save the game. They just don't have enough quality to survive 80+ overs full attack. As it is impossible to score over 350 in one day with last 5 wkts. Only two quality batsmen left. There is lot to happen. There will be many breaks, then 2nd new ball, etc. There will be a time when someones concentration will breakdown. Just one more wkt and they'll breakdown.

I expect a flurry of wickets this morning, probably won't even last till I get back from uni, shocking really.

but why would you get white dropped?he bowled a lot better.he has good turn and variety and got wickets of some key indian batsmen like sachin,sourav.atc...

Lol whoa White and turn, and White and variety should never be mentioned in the same sentences. Lets not kid ourselves the only reason he got those key batsmen was because they were trying to smash him out of the park, not to mention India already had good scores. Let put it like this would White make any other test side in the world as a bowler? Short answer no! He wouldn't even make Zimbabwe as a spinner, no chance of making Bangladesh as one.

As for the side I would go with:
Hayden
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Watson
Haddin
Johnson/Lee
Siddle/Cullen/Casson
Bollinger
Clark

I agree but what can you do when your next option is Krejza. TBH though I'd probably be crazy enough to throw him in, as long as Ponting has confidence in him that might bring out the best in him. Still prefer either a Cullen or Casson but selectors seem to be protecting both of them so after them their ain't much.

Thank god its the end of days play. Good on Haydos and Katich for having a crack at them early but geez we shouldve settled down after couple of wickets.

India will go 1-0 and I guess they deserve it. Interesting to how Aussies will fight back from here.

I would be worried about Hayden's form in the next game. Coz the way he came out and tonked the ball to all parts, its worrying. Today, he was overtaken by a rush of blood. But come Delhi, India needs to work out on how to contain him. Because they have possibly stirred him inside.

I hope India get the remaining wickets soon. They deserve the win for having played way better in this game.

If you take it session by session, its still possible (for Australia to draw). Haddin and Clarke looked comfortable last night against Mishra and Harbhajan. We got to bring our seamers in, and rotate them efficiently with the spinners. Why Sachin is not being bowled is baffling? He can turn the ball really well (although he doesnt have very good control these days). But he can be tried. Also Ganguly with his medium pacers when the wicket is staying low at times will be useful. We got to win this match. It would be stupid to even let them draw it.

No Rainfall??? Thats great. So, Australia cant escape this time.:happy

What do you mean by escape  we have never escape unless like India . Back in 2007, 23rd july Lords Test 5th day.

The Ashes comparisons keep on coming! Most of our news websites have gone on about the rift between Lee and Ponting due to Ponting not bowling him for the whole of morning yesterday and then turning to part timers like Hussey over Lee. Sound familiar? Ashes 05, Gillespie was shunted after being smashed and the next test his international career was over. Now I don't think the selectors are at that stage but Lee is on thin ice.

I don't think our selectors will be enough stupid to make any idiotic decission like this. If they do make ..........

I expect Lee to come back though. He's the kind of guy to give 100% and fight his way back out of form.

For me, Krezja has to come in for White. We've seen how crucial spin is and although Krezja isn't idea, he has to be better than Cameron White for sure.

India retain same squad for the remaining two Tests
The Indian national selectors on Monday retained the same squad for the remaining two Tests against Australia.
The five-member selection committee headed by former captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth met after the fourth day's play to pick the team for the Delhi and Nagpur Tests and opted to retain the same 15 players who have done duty in the first two Tests.

I was thinking that VVS Laxman might be axed, becase he hasent perfromed well so far in the series, just a 40-42 in 1 inngs,PR Singh or Seeshanth might get a chance but for the moment the the same sqad will be there for the whole series.
