Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

During match they showed clip of ball condition after 6 overs of India and Australia and Aussie ball was roughed up on both sides while Indian ball had shine on one side.

Simple why they were not getting reverse swing unless they painted the ball.

Agree, and that is where Johnson wayward bowling is actually costing us reverse swing. Along with Lee.

Get that Bollinger bloke in there. If I was an Aussie i'd want something massively different from the last game. Get Krezja in. It's worth the gamble.

Watson
Hayden
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Katich/Marsh* - Might suit him well down the order where he can play his strokes more freely
Haddin
Krezja
Siddle
Lee
Clark(if fit)/Bollinger

Johnson unlucky to miss out after a few good performances but hey someone needs to be dropped.

From an Indian perspective I'd have to go with Kumble in place of Mishra. It's tough, but he's got to wait. Kumble's favorite ground is the Kotla, he's picked up 55 wickets in 6 matches including that famous 10/71 or whatever against Pakistan. I think just stepping on the field in Delhi will give him a huge boost, and the bounce in the pitch will work tremendously. I would personally replace Harbhajan with Mishra, but we all know that's not going to happen.

The hit your deck bowlers ain't working too well in India. Certainly not our ones due to their lack of accuracy. I would definitely want a swing bowler in there. Seeing it is a spin pitch the selectors might well be forced to pick Krejza. But I can't see them dropping any of the quicks definitely not Johnson who they love. Only way I see Bollinger getting into the side is if we go 4 pacemen and Clark is out.

Hmm. Ishant is a 'hit the deck' kind of guy and he's having massive success.

I say if Lee is injured it could be a blessing in disguise for the Australians (similar to Kumble in Mohali). Who knows, maybe Bollinger or Krezja can nab a 7 fer in the game and bag it for teh 'Roos. Lee looks flat and looks like he's carrying an injury - didn't he split a webbing or whatever?

Sharma has swing and reverse swing plus height. Siddle doesn't have height so hes relying more on accuracy while Johnson is just too wayward to but dangerous as a hit the deck bowler. Clark would be our best exponent of the hit the deck but hes out.

Dropping Harbhajan right now when he is in very good form, and that too on Indian wickets? Mishra might have done better than Harbhajan at Mohali, but Bhajji himself is in very good form and has 299 wickets behind him. One wicket for him, and he can run through a handful more wickets. Harbhajan will be our number one spinner after Kumble retires and with his recent form in SL and this series, he is justifying that. Plus you cant forget Harbhajan's batting form vs Aussies where he has 3 consecutive 50's in three games.

I really dont like that team you posted there Cricketman. First mistake is Watson opening, second is having Marsh in the squad and 3rd is having Krejza. If we are flying players over, why not fly over Dan Cullen or Heal even?

Well, you aren't flying em over...

Krezja should play. Watson has been your one best batsman (lol) and it gives Katich a role to play with Clake against the spinners. I think it'll work.

You do realise that Marsh has flown over in place of Jaques, right?

Krejza, while having that shocker of a match against the BP XI needs a chance. You can't judge him from that one match, plus the pitch as Hyderabad didn't really suit the spinners much.

It really makes no sense why Krejza is over here. At first I could kinda of understand it but when McGain went down their plan went up in smoke. So our supposed 2nd spinner was overlooked for a guy that just got off the plane but can't argue much about that move considering the tour match.
But after 2 matches of White it is clear we need a proper bowler whether it is spin or pace.

The question is what is Krejza doing here? Hes certainly not here for the experience as I wouldn't consider him our future spinner, so the selectors should either play him or send him back home and get a spinner they will play.

Leave Kreza, why is Marsh coming ?

I think the selectors are looking for an off spinner to operate on the sub continent. No idea why though.

The selection of White is more baffling. Pre series you probably could have seen him as a bowling option, but with the way Ponting's using him there's just no point going there. With the batting at 8 he's absolutely useless so why not either replace him with a pure batsman or a pure bowler because with him there it feels like we're playing with only 10 men.

What i don't get is why everyone's anaylising the bowling. If i'm not wrong Australia's batting was the ultimate demise. On a perfect batting strip they couldn't post a good score. Its so heavy around Hayden, Ponting and Hussey. Perhaps someone in the middle order should open with Hayden. Maybe Hayden and Clarke with Katich in the middle order.
Hayden
Clarke
Ponting
Hussey
Katich
Watson
Haddin
Lee
Johnson
Krejza/Siddle
Clark if fit/Bollinger

If Kreja plays he will never see his name in Test squad for Australia ever again.

Well we don't have many options in the batting department and we have to give credit to the Indian bowlers. I suspect if they were bowling to the Indian batsmen they too would have struggled. Certainly have no problem with Katich down the order but Clarke is suspect against the moving ball and hes our best player of spin. Katich has done an alright job at the top anyway.
