Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Weird session. Huge score, but what a waste of wickets. I tend to think India will recover in the conventional sense rather than through belligerence, but if they lose either of these two cheaply in the next, India will be looking back sourly on that first session in days to come.

After those two wickets I would say Tendulkar won't try smashing Krejza out of the attack. He almost was out caught and bowled to him and then mistimed a slog sweep. So if India to manage to settle down then we will have a better indication of how Krejza travelling. Certainly spinning the ball and hasn't bowled many bad balls just very aggressive shots from Sehwag.

Sehwag needs a kick on the butt now.. WTF was he thinking:mad:? He was no way going to succesfully steer the ball to third man when the ball pitched so close to off-stump.. this is what complecency can do. Hope the other batsmen dont get complecent now and play krejza like normal.
thats why you should never underestimate the new bowlers. he always does that

I was fine with dropping Clark but not for Krejza. White hasn't even bowled yet and hes batting 8 almost as bad as me batting 11 and not bowling! I seriously don't know what we are doing these days. The way it's gone so far Watson should be the one batting at 8 at least then the selectors can justify White.

Exactly. The selectors cant honestly try and tell us White is there as a batsmen who will bowl about 15 overs. What a joke we should have played Marsh even for White if thats going to be the case.

Don't understand dropping Clark. How can you drop someone who averages under 23 and gives control no matter what the conditions are like. And yet Cameron White gets away with bowling 3 tests of rubbish! Seems a bit silly from the Australians.

Exactly. White is the one who should have been dropped. He's a part time bowler and part time batsman. He's half a player as far as i'm concerned.

Ever since that ball Krejza bowled which almost hit the off stump of Vijay? I have been very impressed. The first over was simply nerves and a dude who likes getting after a new player. His record isn't great in first class but that means nothing. Those 2 wickets will do him good. He's already out-bowled White this series in 1 session.

Both wickets were not due to the belligerence of the Indians. It was good turn, good captaincy and some poor form. Dravid was in very poor form, and so they attacked him and with Krejza getting good turn from even the good spots of the wicket, Dravid was pressurised more. Sehwag's wicket was due to the captaincy. The previous ball, the ball turned quite some much and Sehwag thrust his bat and pad to the ball and just touched ball with bat to silly point. Immediately Ponting brought the silly point and Sehwag was pressured to go for the cut and got out.

Very good turn from Krejza that too from the good spots (not from the rough!). And he is getting good bounce. India, please get to 400 and then lets see what Harbhajan can do. There is purchase on this wicket for the fast bowlers if they bend their backs. they are getting good bounce.

It was a 50-50 session with it being slightly in India's favor due to the amazing scoring rate of Sehwag. I guess Sachin and Laxman will get to the conventional style (was shocked seeing Sachin treat Krejza that badly, but it was how you should play against a debutant!). I was surprised seeing India's tactics and I ENJOYED IT!!!

I agree Krejza wickets were from good balls. Not much Dravid could have done with his poor form and probably not much Sehwag could have done with that ball the way he plays.

And again I agree that you should attack a debutant but they should have reeled it as they did the damage but Ponting was good enough to call the bluff and keep Krejza on. The way Sehwag was playing he was always going to get out sooner rather than later just like Hayden did in the 2nd test.

Dravid is probably the most liable in the batting dept now.
even the debutant M.Vijay played better than him !!

thats why you should never underestimate the new bowlers. he always does that
Yeah. He is one of my favourite cricketers but sometimes he just makes us mad with his irresponsible strokeplay like he did today. If he had'nt gone for that far underestimated shot, India could've been in a much much stronger position.

India may have seriously messed up this game. Krejza should definitely be attacked but with some sort of tempered aggression. Hopefully we see a little more tempered aggression. If we go into our shell against him, he will get wickets. There's plenty of turn and bounce there and this is the best time for an off-spinner to bowl.

The pitch looks like it's going to crack up majorly. A score of 300-400 may be enough for us here.

India need to take a deep breath and play calmly. To be honest the bowling line-up is pretty poor from Australia. There is no Clark to dry up the runs, so if they just wait, the runs will come.

clark is injured right? thats why he was dropped....

You'd like to think so. Amazing how Australia can drop the 3rd ranked best bowler in the world. Absolutely unbelievable! He was the most economical bowler in the run-fest last time also. He's a good bowler for putting pressure on, instead Australia want to adopt this Johnson, Lee approach where boundaries spray all over the place in the first 4 overs so defensive fields need to be used in the 4th over!!! Ponting had a third man in by the 4th over of the test match. That's disgraceful. That should never happen. There's noway the bowlers should be bowling that short and wide early on.

The over-rates have been shocking yet again also. Australia need a shake up

Oh and I add, 24 overs in a session? If Ponting is not even fined after the completion of this series, I will have to start taking Sunil Gavaskar's ideas seriously.

Dravid is probably the most liable in the batting dept now.
even the debutant M.Vijay played better than him !!

I think Dravid should be dropped for the England tests if he fails to show us in the 2nd innings that he has it in him. If he doesnt get a chance, he should still be dropped. If Ganguly can be dropped and come back, why not Dravid?

Nah Clark has looked hardly threatening this series. He's had 2 wickets in 2 tests. One was Ishant Sharma. I'm not suprised he's dropped. Just suprised White went ahead. Nice from Watson. He's stepped up. I noticed his seam position is a lot better than Lee. Johnson bowled well considering the condition. I have to say Johnson's strength is he can bowl all day and stay at 140km. Hehas a good slower ball too. Lol proud of Krezja (always support a fellow spinner). I don't know too many guys who'd keep bowling when they've been smashed 32 in 3 overs. Tendulkar and Laxman just need to settle. Just be careful of the spinners. I'm tempted to put in Katich and Krejza. But its likely white will go ahead... no that i'm complaining:D
