Australia's Tour Of India - 2008

Hayden needs to be there at the end as Punter would say. Hes our best hope of keeping the run rate we need to pull off the miracle. As we expect though the big test will be what we do when the 8-1 field setting is put in place.

Yeah I rememeber us chasing around 280 against saffers on the last day. Punter and Haydos made all the runs there. If we can go in to the last session with some wickets in hand and with some chance of winning the test , things will get interesting. Maybe aim for 200 in the first 2 sessions (without taking much risks) and go all out attack in the 3rd session with wickets in hand.

But yeah I have a feeling that the 8-1 fields will make another apperance tomorrow. Aussies better have a plan to counter this.

I actually feel like following the match from the start of day 5. Australia could lose their first Test series since the Ashes in 2005.

I hope India don't go the way England did after the 2005 Ashes.

That's what England also thought after they beat Australia.

Whatever the outcome is, it was an entertaining series. Hopefully Australia won't point towards the fact that they didn't take Symonds to India or that they brought Krezja in the team too late in the serires.

Vijay has had a very good debut. Two handy contributions and two brilliant run outs. Vijay > Jaffer (Flat Track Bully) :)

Dont worry. Our team is capable of beating any team.

You have been opening your mouth, just becasue we have not arrived with our full team. Lets England start the campaign, we will see what India is doing.

Was it our fault that Symonds went fishing? Thats you're disadvantage and our our fault -- He should have sorted his priorities out.

Even If Australia got a good start i don't think they will able to have the same on the last day ..

India has a great change to win this if our spinners do it well

Aussies under pressure.and they will lose or make it a draw :)

If Hayden gets going anything can happen, Once he and Ponting get out I will be relaxed. All in all only 5 batsmen can do this Australia because I personally do not see Shane Watson or Brad Haddin causing us any problems with the bat.

Go curse your Bad luck mate. Try to take defeats it's the part of Game and the England Series is concerned why don't you shut your Big Mouth in this :)

What do we do if your full team is not with you in this tour? if that's the reason Aussies got lose here then it's the biggest joke i have ever heard :laugh

No Chetan you have got this all wrong, We should appeal to the ICC and ACB to let Symonds play...

This match is more evenly balanced than one thinks. Australia has nothing to lose if they go for the target and get bowled out in the process. And they have the batsmen to do it in Hayden, Ponting and Hussey.

Australia need a win and they most certainly won't be playing for a draw...

Never, if your team follow this 3rd class standards. Whats the point of playing test match here if you have to made such a pitch which clearly favours the home sides and depends on toss fully

Teams around the world do this, Australia have done this before where they have prepared home pitches to suit their fast bowlers. Dont bark about this particular thing. In fact in the last few seasons, Indian pitches have not exactly been home advantage pitches. They have been slow and low turn or no turn at all.

No one prepares fully one sided pitch like India does

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 1 Minutes and 26 Seconds later...

Bowlers used to shoot out batsmen in Perth which was the fastest pitch in the world. Subcontinent teams used to grapple playing at Perth. West Indies used to do it with Barbados, South Africa used to do it with Durban. New Zealand prepared a garden last time when india toured.

I feel sorry for Dravid. He looks a lifeless shell of a batsman he once was.

He needs a drop. He deserves it!

Yippe!! Binga strikes and Sehwag gone :happy best thing he missed out his ton :D its great to dismiss when anyone in 90's ;)

Best thing when an Australian gets out at 90's too.:p

LOL Ganguly first ball duck to Krejza :) Go you good thing. Double hattrick chance in one match wow!

OYE DADA!!!! What the heck yaar??? So much expectations... But poetic justice that his first innings was a hundred and the last one was a duck.... Diminishing returns went to the point of no returns at all.:D

Tendlya gone.

Mahi what the hell you did there. Now enjoy a defeat from jaws of victory.

No, I think Sachin was too optimistic about that run. But Mahi did a mistake by coming a little too forward. Both made the mistake!

Dhoni and Bhajji have a 100 partnership:upray

Seems like your prayers were answered. Keep praying often!:cheers:clap

This post is pretty old, but last time I checked, Dhoni should have been placing a series win over Australia slightly higher than a few fans' notions of what Test cricket needs to survive. It's not a good look for Test cricket... sure. But then you have to condemn Australia's 2004 win in India, because they employed the very same tactics.

Perfect! Jason Gillespie and Kasprowicz were also reminding the Aussies of the tactics they employed in 2004 to choke the runs of the Indian batsmen and lure them into making mistakes. Thats what Dhoni did!

I think this match is over reasons

1. Don't think Australia can chase this score too big for their liking

2. with 8-1 off side field, no chance in hell

This day has been really fascinating:happy

Australia are going to try and chase 382 tomorrow. There is no point in them hanging around because a draw would definitely give India the trophy. The trophy is the bigger thing than the draw, and so I feel tomorrow we will see a result for sure - INDIA or a miraculous AUSTRALIA!
